hiya Misbeeb, hope yu,jimmy and family are in the best of health.Yes i have read all these posts on here.i am in agreement with Abbynormal on this topic.i do think ALL BREEDING STOCK SHOULD BE TESTED,now that there is a test.Ppl.who didnt test their male pups for haemo.in the past were frowned upon and now yu cannot be breed survey w/o having had the test and being declared clear.wot,i want to know why is this test any different?Abby did clarify, that carriers DID NOT HAVE TO BE DISREGARDED but that breeders SHOULD only breed a carrier to a clear and then when it becomes almost the norm of animals testing clear THEN IT SHOULD BE only clear to clear, which will obviously be in a few years time.i too would hope as Abby does that more males/females will now be tested and added to the list on Janquenetta,s site.some on here are saying its a witch hunt,i dont believe that,Abby was only stating that Jean had results on her site re gsds tested for pituitary dwarfism. Are we to take a stance and accuse Jean of starting a witch hunt coz of her site,i doubt it coz she,s known to us,whereby Abby is not.i personally do believe she has the breed welfare at heart, and has a lot of knowledge, maybe she is a bit ott at times, but i dont think thats a bad thing most of the time.i suppose David will say i,m gullible or talking a load of dribble, well go ahead,i couldnt give a dam.i know that my next little girl will be bought from a person who has had her bitch ,hip/elbow scored,PD and AF tested if test available and will expect the sire to have been tested as well, also haemo.tested for sire.i also do not understand Sue,when she says she has no carriers?no disrespect to sue,as i know her stock is DNA tested.Does that mean that the dna tests for the SV includes the testing for PD?I know i could be ignorant on this score as i dont know the german dna system.Carole S.

Pam, thank you for that very informative perspective.
Carole, I don't have any interest in your opinion or the opinion of the anonymous geek named Abbey Normal on such matters.

That's scary Pam & very sad.
Carole, part of an Abnor post : So ultimately, the only loss will be having to withdraw him from stud.
I believe it's a fairly new test and people are joining the ranks all the time Carol... there was never any need for the bad attitude because no-one had added to this thread. Randomly accusing people of hiding things because you are not made immediately aware is either nasty or paranoid... take your pick.

Oh, yeah.. thanks for asking, I have the cough from Hell and Jimmy has an ear infection! LOL
Other than that, we're well... hope you and yours are too Carole.

This test is not that new. It was available prior to April 2009. I do find it disappointing to see just 7 dogs registered as tested in that period of time.
Wildmoor - none of what you have stated is only happening in off colours. You can find a breeder on this very thread happy to stud to a bitch with a 48 hip score, which in turn produced puppies with poor hipscores. (is that breeder bashing MissB or just a statement of fact?) Look on some of the other threads on the DB to find many people with dogs with a whole range of defects with a 'good' pedigrees that also produce epilepsy and severe HD. Let's not go off topic and start the 'off colours' scenario all over again. This thread is and should remain about PD testing.
All else aside, this test should be used, and we should, by using it gain an understanding of the scale of the situation. Does anyone disagree with that?
The Dutch VDH have issued guidelines, have the KC, or the Breed Council?
I thank those who have PM'd me, and I quite understand why you would not want to post openly on this thread now.

I cannot find mention of PD, or the available test on either the KC , GSDL or the Breed Council website. Perhaps I am just missing it?
Carole you didn't deserve that. I appreciate your support, but you should be aware by now that if you agree with me you will come under attack, whether what you say is valid or not.

Oh! dear!! Abby could you tell me what is your involvement in the breed exactly??? You seem more knowledgeable on Border Collies, if that's the case maybe you should look in before looking out?? I believe we have all given Abby Normal exactly what she wanted from the start of this thread, and I include myself in that, for that I apologize.
Miss Beeb, no disrespect and I understand your passion, but your comments on "anonymous" posters is comical, lol. Up until recently, when you got your new dog, you were one of the " anonymous".
David Payne was right on another thread when he said he would not be replying to any more of Abby's drivel......maybe we should take a leaf from his book, however hard that might be, lol.

morning all.Misbeeb,i took that statement by Abby as to be announcing the sorry fact that ultimately the lady who had stated on her post, that she had decided to withdraw her male from stud.Abby WAS NOT TELLING HER HE SHOULD BE WITHDRAWN.David, dont mean to be rude/disrespectful to yu but i dont give a dam that you,re NOT INTERESTED ,in my opinions.Geek eh,oh well i,ve been called worse things before.WOT I,M INTERESTED IN AND WILL BE IN THE FUTURE,ARE GSDS WHO HAVE BEEN TESTED FOR ALL THE HEALTH PROBLEMS (as and when tests become available).i salute all the breeders who have had this test done on their animals and are putting the results on JANQUENETTA website for ALL to see ,whether said results are good or BAD.Abby i can concur with Misbeeb,i too have only heard about this test a few months ago, actually on PDB,from a post i believe on here by a non show person.I ,TOO,ASK MYSELF WHY OUR B/C,GDSL,KC havent known about this test and now that it is known about,is it going to be taken on board like the hip/elbow/haemo/dna testing.i have also heard on FB of another male who has tested clear and will be added to Janquenettas list.i will let the owner/breeder tell yu all.have a good day all.Carole S.

Morning Carole, hope all is well with you.

Bazza... you're quite wrong! I'd posted my name on SEVERAL ocassions prior to getting Jimmy! It is true that I'm not much bothered whether peeps know my name or not... it won't mean much to them anyway.
You are, of course, quite right about Abnor getting what she wanted on this thread... it took a while, but the goads and jibes paid her dividends. Sad life huh?
