BTW I had meant to Watch that a few minutes ago and I got so carried away with that Obama link and reading all that crazy crap............................

who said I can't handle wealth?
Is that what you took away from our conversation?
Lets say I didn't spend it all that money the first afternoon, the next move would be to take my money to an off shore bank for security, then I would convert it into commodities that you can't live without as the paper money will become worthless soon enough.
When that happens my investments will grow rather quickly.
From that point on every transaction will be a trade, no more paper money.
I wonder how much gold Uglydog ended up buying, off course you wouldn't trade essentials for gold, you'd want goods like food or medicine.
Gold is another dead end.
Yeah I would want more wealth and I would get it, takes wealth to build wealth, and a little wisdom.
If you give a mouse a cookie, he's gonna want a glass of milk.
That's a good investment, milk, and it's gonna cost that mouse more than the cookies.
Trust me, I would manage my wealth wisely.
Or maybe I would just piss it away after all, I'll try to decide after I win the big lotto.

Interesting to me because, I think you are the naive one in this subject. So, you would be into pork bellies and aspirin, that kind of thing? Not LNG or Titanium? Also, if US society and their banking institutions are on the brink of implosion, why in the world would you think an off-shore account will benefit you?
The only reasons for an off-shore account would be to take advantage of earnings on investment taxation, or to hide funds that were obtained illegally in the first place.
And really, that is why the boom years were a boon to everyone, especially our Gov'ts coffers. Remember, it is only when a capital gain is realized, (not paper profit) does a tax on it happen, the tax bracket percentage means nothing if there simply is no changing of hands. If no one is making profits, then what happens? The portfolio will be looked at for losses to deduct, to offset their income taxes. And that doesn't fill the Gov't coffers, does it?
