I'm thinking that perhaps Rik should be ignored...I don't recall a post from Oli stating that Rik was now the forum police. This forum, both sides of it, can be used to discuss all things GSD, and like it or not, Rik, there are 'panda' marked shepherds being born in litters, Incavale's being one of them. I don't care for the color at all, in fact, I don't care for the blues or livers, either, but they are still GSDs, born from GSD parents.
For you to constantly attack someone for daring to mention 'panda' marked GSDs, shows that you are a rather mean spirited person, rather like those that ran Hodie off the board.
As far as the Shiloh...It is a mixed breed and has no place being discussed here because it is not a GSD. That said, the panda variation is a GSD, although a great number of the pics I've seen tend to have border collie features, and not look like pure GSD.
This is just my opinion, of course, and I am not a breeder. If I were, and were unfortunate enough to end up with one or more oddly marked puppies, I would have to make a hard choice between keeping them till they were old enough to spay, or euthanizing them, and you can bet that the dam would be spayed as well, and the sire, if he were mine. Any type of major genetic fault should be corrected, in my opinion, to preserve the essence of the GSD.

There's other past topic threads on this subject that covers it in much depth. Please refer to those threads for pics and info. A German import working line ScHH3 male with decent breeding sired the first widely publicized 'panda' (please note I didn't say the first GSD with alot of white markings much like a Border Collie-I've seen first hand pics of GSDs who showed these SAME markings now referred to as 'panda' that were born 10+ years before Franka and her progeny and not of the same breeding), and I personally agree with the whole thought of the Border Collie marking associated with it.

Crys,
I'm not a breeder either, and I am glad I am not the ONLY person on this board who thinks euthanization of a pup is inhumane or "IGNORANT"... I think that irked me more than being called inhumane lol.
If I do breed a litter it will be for ME and a few select people who have already expressed interest in said litter. People who I approve of and people who do NOT want a dog that is half white.

WHAT I THINK IS THAT THE PANDA SHEPHERD SHOULD BE SET IT'S OWN STANDARD AND SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF THE GSD STUFF.
IT SHOULD GET IT'S OWN STANDARD, BE JUDGED DIFFERENTLY FROM THE GSD, HAVE ITS OWN SHOWS, AND BE RECOGNISED AS A NEW BREED BY THE AKC AND THE KC, AND POSSIBILY THE FCI.
BUT WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The gene pool for the panda is not large enough to be considered a new breed. they are a mismarked gsd, thats it. with the # of panda marked dogs today, I don't feel there is enough different lines to maintain a new breed.

Ok uber, i do think you have a reasonable explanation for not starting a new breed, but we could try to.
Firstly what was the dam's name, who gave birth to the first panda shepherd.

Real GSD people would not breed from these dogs, and any sold should be sold on a neuter contract, think they will only be another money maker for unscrupulous breeders.
These look like working collie cross GSD's, think their is enough dogs that don't qualify as GSD's being bred from and sold as a GSD but this is just my opinion
