I can't find where anyone said " gsd regestered with AKC cant be titled no matter what handler had him".  If you are paraphrasing my post, you got it wrong.  What I actually said was "Most of the AKC registered GSDs are American Lines and couldn't obtain titles under the best of circumstances, regardless of who handled them."  I stand by that statement.  There is a world of difference between American Line and European Line GSDs, and that includes those born and bred in the United States.   To my knowledge there are less American Line GSDs than there are fingers on one person's hands that have been successfully schutzhund titled in the United States.

Again though, this is merely a matter of personal preference, when it comes to where, and from whom people buy their dogs, there really is no right or wrong.

My first 2 GSD,s were from local club members, My next male was bought from Belgium from Mike Worral brought into the country by Ed Frear, My next female I bought from Jessie Gabriel from Texas. After the original 2 purchases I was very happy with both the dog from Belgium and from Texas I saw neither until they arrived (other then pics and videos) I relayed to the breeder what I wanted and asked what was available.  Axel came from Belgium I had a deposit on him 5 months before the litter hit the ground and was treated very well by Mike Worral.  Jessie also treated me very well with out a problem I guess it all depends on how much background work you do and not just a off the cuff purchase. I,ll go where I need to to get the dog I want no matter where it lives.
