Thank you StarrChar, well it's a good news bad news day. Good news, my Ca-125 is 26! That's super! Bad news...my abdominal pain was worse so they did a stat CT, I had another large abscess in my pelvis. They sclerosed it with alcohol & put in another drain, whether it's the alcohol or the drain position, this sucker HURTS!!! And on my way home the doctors office called to tell me my counts are so low I shouldn't be walking around. They'll check them again on Friday, if still down I may need a transfusion. Obviously, no last chemo tomorrow. At least I know why I'm tired. Cry Smile

Ca 125 at 26 is very good news and worth celebrating, but I know with low counts you not feeling much like doing that.  Did they give you anything to build up the red count, such as Aranesp? I know there is bit of controversy over giving that to cancer patients. I'm sorry you are facing more challenges. I am praying your doctors will get these issues resolved soon  so you can complete the chemo. (((Hugs)))) Xxxxxxx

Thanks Char, I was so thrilled with that Ca-125, last time it was 129, so 26 is wonderful! Now if I can only get the rest of this stuff in line......! And this tube is just killing me...so painful!

Nans & Rider, thank you!

I'm an Oncology Nurse and haven't posted but have been following your fight, keep up the positive attitude, that drop in your CA-125 is great! It's always the last treatment/s that are the hardest because your body is so beat up. We really don't use growth factors with agreessive treatments where the goal is a cure and patients will often feel so much better after a blood transfusion plus you can continue the treatment. Lots of hugs.

Travels & GSD39mr, thank you! My tube got pulled yesterday after a comedy of errors in IR....the radiologist finally saw my white count (I gave him my copy of my labs) & spoke wite the oncologist again, & since I've already been septic once, they decided to pull it. For now I feel much better, it's amazing what a difference a couple hundred cc's of fluid in the wrong spot can make! And I'll just hope my counts are higher on Tuesday! My hubby heard that my "blood" was low, now he's trying to get me to eat red meat every night! Gotta love that crazy old man of mine! He's trying the best way he knows! jackie harris
