Red Sable

Those old threads are funny Chaz, though  I noticed you didn't drink the kool-aid.

That last thread was the turning point for me.  Just too many screw ups when it comes to disclosure.

I hope Lyda is doing well, maybe rooka will pop back in and give us an update.

As for Sonia, nice job of trying to discredit the witness by the defence,  but the fact remains she still could have gotten a less than stellar pup.

Chrissy and Ace,
I stumbled across your thread while researching hip dysplasia this week. Our 10 month old Wheaten Terrier, Tucker, was diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia on Saturday, and it's pretty pronounced.  He's always walked a little funny, and he bunny-hops when he runs, but he doesn't seem to be in pain from it. BUT, we took him to the vet Saturday for another issue (minor), and she discovered the hips. She recommended an orthopedic specialist in town for an FHO, and he has an appt in 10 days, but they quoted us $2500 per hip for the FHO.
We live in Tucson, too!  I see you've gotten a quote in the PHX area for $1300 per hip. Ace, is that one of the vets you linked early in this thread? Or where is it?
Tucker is 45 pounds and very exuberant! He's well muscled so far, and we want to consider getting it done before the arthritis sets in. Our 4 kids are totally in love with this dog, so euthenasia and return-for-replacement warrantees are out of the question. Any help with a good surgery quote? Everyone in the PHX are my wife has called so far is no cheaper than the $2500 quote we got here in Tucson.
Thanks a lot!!

(BTW, Tucker's appointment in 10 days is for the consultation, which itself will cost $90. The appt isn't for the surgery, which is what it looks like when I re-read the post!)

Re:defenSe, it's interesting that you see the sheer insanity as the discrediting factor, and not the fact that this is Sonia/Eva's MO. How many breeders did she do this to? Sure, it's POSSIBLE that there was something wrong w/the pup, but she could never prove anything, never could show us anything that said the pup wasn't normal, and the odds really don't point in her favor. I guess she just has really bad luck that ALL her dogs have problems and she's seeking legal help on all of them. I mean, wow, she's one unlucky lady. LOL

Mrs. Sable, I remember his ads in Dog World magazine in the late 80s. I called him and that was the last of it.

Chaz, lmao
You do realize some of the people posting here and other threads were just babies/toddlers in the 80's right? But now they are BREEDERS ;)

Those ads make me chuckle, I clearly remember them, in fact will ask the SO if we still have some old DW's laying around somewhere for laughs.

WD, remember he had a picture of a dog with a soldier, and it said, " from a movie"?

Old enough to keep my Dog World and playboys sepArate.

I agree Jenni, Sonia likely is BSC. However, I also agree with RSable, the fact she was able to extract her refunded purchase price from the "Warranty Queen", madame Debbie, kind of puts a new twist on things for me. She was threatening litigation.  See any similarities here? I think AlpineK9 are smart enough to know when they would lose in court is all, and really that's all it takes.
