Too many breeders let the market be their guide. The bigger the breeder, the more it MUST be guided by market.

Cowhock really? No lets not breed it.

 

Big head easy to fix.. great colors easy to fix..  famous parents... easy to fix    oversize um easy to fix...  big head easy to fix.. pretty healthy dogs easy to fix

 

Strong working ability must be put first in a working line dog and much harder to fix after all the pretty corrections have been put into play.

His right rear hock is facing inward? 

Health, Temp,Nerves,Working /Drive,Conformation,Color

Honesty, Integrity and a Passion to have way too much fun playing with dogs!

Just a question - in my mind working ability is part of the overall temperament ( all drives combined = the temperament of the dog, definitively genetic ). Wrong interpretation? How do you explain "temperament" ?

susie, that's my opinion as well--though I do distinguish between working ability and work ethic.

Temperament is a subset of working ability. It is possible to have good temperament without working ability......(pause)

but you can't have working ability without temperament.

Similar to a fire.  Fire is analogous to working ability and the three things that it takes to make fire (ignition source, fuel load, oxygen) would be the subsets akin to temperament, work ethic, hardness....(there are more than three though).
