Yep we have the problem here too because we use the same German Judges.

When I worked the NASS as a helper, we would have these discussions with the judges and they would nod and say that it was getting better, but it never did.  I got in trouble both times when I worked the NASS for chasing dogs that wouldn't stay on the sleeve.  The rules are that when the dog comes off, you go after the dog.  Not stand there and not back up for them to engage.  The judges kept saying that it wasn't up to the helper to chase the dog, it was up to them to pass or fail the dog. 

I have not seen a USCA Sieger Show since Nathaniel started judging the bitework so I don't know if that has gotten better or not.

I sure hope so.

OK I guess we all know by now that these are not Czech workingline dogs, they are German Showlines.

Doesn't matter,  behavior is behavior regardless of  the pedigree behind it. 

A dog who goes for the elbow is not expressing his dominance or fight drive.  He is in avoidance to pressure from the presence of the helper.

Thank you for sharing the videos Irina. It is very interesting to me to watch these and compare them to some of the dogs (workinglines, mainly) that I know. I don't get to see many showlines, and it sounds horrible but part of me is kind of glad. If those dogs are supposed to be some of the "best of the best", then boy are we in trouble.

I need to get around more to see some better ones. Surely there are some out there.
