An obstructed airway can lead to heat prostration.

the only real problem I had with Rotties is not lack of intelligence but rather something like a stubborn streak occasionally.  you give a command and they look at you like yeaaa.  but can you make me?

where I live, along with Fila Brasilias they are generally thought of as better home/property protection dogs than GSD's. They are not as good in agility/obedience, but they require less training for real bites (usually requiring training to NOT bite, rather). As someone mentioned earlier, they are generally a lot quieter as well and easier to live with for laid-back people.

I started out in Rotts but ended up with GSD's
Difference GSD's are more biddable other then that not a lot of difference
Any dog can take the heat as long as they are conditioned to
And yes I say that because I own an Bulldog and if she is used to AC she can not take heat if she is used to AC she can not take heat
Like a human, if you are used to comfortable surroundings it is hard to get out and be in heat
My first Rott was what we called a happy tracker could track as well as any GSD if not better
I break the 3 main breeds up in to 3 differnt catagories
Mali's are like Ferrai's
GSD are like Jeeps and
Rotts are like Tanks
What do you prefer to drive !!??

by Blitzen on 29 August 2012 - 23:08

I'd prefer a Jeep.
