  • The gainsaying of Korah."

Three completes Divine Judgment (Daniel 6:25-28).

  • MENE. God hath NUMBERED thy kingdom and finished it.

  • TEKEL. Thou art WEIGHED in the balances and found wanting.

  • PERES. Thy kingdom is DIVIDED and given to the Medes and Persians.

The Three-fold Gifts of Grace

The Three-fold gifts of grace are Faith, Hope, and Love, five times repeated.

The Three-fold Nature of Man

The Three-fold nature of man is Spirit, and Soul, and Body, the man consisting of neither separately, but of the whole three together.

The Three-fold Nature of Temptation (1 John 2:16)

  • "The lust of the flesh."
  • "The lust of the eyes."
  • "The pride of life."

These seen in our first parents when Eve saw (Genesis 3:6) that the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil was--

  • "Good for food,"
  • "Pleasant to the eyes,"
  • "To be desired to make one wise."

The Three-fold corruption of God's Word occurs by taking from, adding to, and altering it.

This led up to the first sin.

  1. God had said, "of every tree in the garden thou mayest FREELY eat" (Genesis 2:16). In repeating this, Eve omitted the word "freely" (3:2), making God less bountiful than He was.

  2. God had said, "But of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, thou shalt not eat of it" (Genesis 2:17). In repeating this Eve added the words, "NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT" (3:3), making God more severe than He was.

  3. God had said, "Thou shalt SURELY die" (Genesis 3:17, tw@mt@af tw$m). In repeating this Eve altered it to Nw@tmut@:-Np@e "LEST ye die" (3:3), thus weakening the certainty of the Divine threat into a contingency.

No wonder that dealing thus with the Word of God she listened to the words of the Devil, and became an easy prey to his guile with which he deceived her.

No wonder also that "the second man," "the last Adam," when He was tempted by the same tempter, three times repeated the words "It is written"! as though to call attention to the occasion of the Fall in the three-fold perversions of God's words. "It is written," and I will not omit anything from it; "It is written," and I will not add anything to it; "It is written," and I will not alter it. It is worthy of note that both the temptations began in precisely the same way, by the Tempter questioning the truth of God's Word. In the former saying, "Hath God said?" In the latter saying "If Thou be the Son of God" (Matthew 4:3), when the voice from Heaven had only just declared, "This IS My beloved Son" (Matthew 3:17).

What are man's three great ENEMIES?

Man's three great enemies are "the World, the Flesh, and the Devil":

  1. The World is set over against the Father (1 John 2:15,16).

  2. The Flesh is set over against the Spirit (Galatians 5:17).

  3. The Devil is set over against the son (the Living Word, Matthew 4:1, etc, and 1 John 3:8; and the Written Word, John 8:44).

Which three people could ask of God ANYTHING?

To three people did God give this command:

  • To Solomon (1 Kings 3:5).
  • To Ahaz (Isaiah 7:11).
  • And to the Messiah (Psalm 2:9).

What are the Three Prayers of Mark 5?

The Three prayers of Mark 5 form a divinely perfect lesson as to prayer and its answer.

  1. Prayer was made by the Legion of Devils, who "BESOUGHT Him, saying, Send us into the herd of swine . . . and forthwith Jesus gave them leave" (vv 12,13).

yellowrose of Texas

by yellowrose of Texas on 21 December 2011 - 02:12

  1. Prayer was made by the Gadarenes, who "began to PRAY Him to depart out of their coasts" (verse 17). Jesus granted their request, and departed at once (verse 18).

  2. Prayer was made by the man who had just been the recipient of marvellous grace and healing, who "PRAYED Him that he might be with Him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not" (vv 18,19).

From this we learn the perfect lesson with regard to prayer, that "No" is an answer as well as "Yes"; and "No" is answered always with the same omnipotent grace, infinite wisdom, and perfect love as "Yes." We hear much about "definiteness in prayer." Surely the knowledge of one's intense ignorance as to what is best and wise for us, will make us say more definitely than ever, in the words of Him through whose merits alone prayer is heard at all, "Thy will be done."

What three things does John assert about God?

In John's Gospel and Epistles:

  • "God is love" (1 John 4:8,16). We are therefore to "Walk in love" (Ephesians 5:2).

  • "God is spirit" (John 4:24, Revised Version , margin). We are exhorted to "Walk in the spirit" (Galatians 5:16).

  • "God is light" * (1 John 1:5). We are to "Walk in the light" (Ephesians 5:8).

* Light, like God, is three-fold. It has three great rays:—
  • The Heat ray (red), which is felt, not seen, witnesses of the Father, "whom no man hath seen at any time" (John 1:18; 1 John 4:12).

  • The Light ray (yellow), which is seen, not felt, witnesses of Jesus, who hath "declared the Father" (John 1:18, 12:45, 14:9; Colossians 1:15; Hebrews 1:3).

  • The Actinic or chemical ray (blue), which is neither seen nor felt, but whose presence is revealed by its effects in a chemical action, which produces changes, as in Photography.

There are a multitude of Threes or Triads, and they all bespeak the same Divine perfection and completeness wherever they are found.

What does the number 3 symbolize in the first chapter of Revelation?

The first or introductory section of the Revelation of Jesus Christ is specially marked by this great Divine seal stamped upon it in chapter 1.

  • verse 1. This Revelation is--
    Divinely given,
    Divinely sent,
    Divinely signified.

  • verse 2. John bare record of--
    The Divine "Word of God."
The Divine witness ("the Testimony of Jesus Christ").
The Divine vision ("all things that he saw").

  • verse 3. The Divine blessing on--
    The reader,
    The hearer, and
    The keeper of this record.

  • verses 4 and 8. The Divine Being--
    Which was,
    And which is,
    And which is to come.
  • verse 5. The Coming Lord is presented as--
The Divine Prophet ("the faithful witness").
The Divine Priest ("the first-begotten from the dead").
The Divine King ("the Prince of the kings of the earth").

  • verses 5, 6. His people are Divinely--
    Loved,
    Cleansed, and
    Crowned.
  • verses 17, 18. Christ is presented as--
"The first and the last" (Divinely eternal).
The dead and living One (Divinely living).
    The omnipotent One (Divinely powerful).

  • verse 19. The Divine Revelation--
The things which thou hast seen,
    Which are, and
Which shall be after these things.

Which words occur Three Times?

Words that occur three times refer also in various ways to some Divinely perfect matter. We append a few examples, which may be studied in order to search out the lessons:--

  • rd) (ah-dar), glorious, Exodus 15:6,11; Isaiah 42:21.
  • ysp) (aph-see), beside me, Isaiah 47:8,10; Zephaniah 2:15.
  • hlwmg (g'moo-lah), recompense, 2 Samuel 19:36; Isaiah 59:18; Jeremiah 51:56.
  • hkn (nah-cheh), lame, 2 Samuel 4:4, 9:3; contrite, Isaiah 56:2.
  • qyt( (at-teek), ancient, Daniel 7:9,13,22.
  • tw)pr (r'phoo-oth), medicines, Jeremiah 30:13, 46:11; Ezekiel 30:21.
  • abba (abba), Father, Mark 14:36; Romans 8:15; Galatians 4:6.

The Three-fold Combinations of a Number

The Three-fold combinations of a number denotes the essence of such number, the concentration of the significance of the number thus expressed.

  • 444 is the Gematria (substituting numbers for letters) or number of the word "DAMASCUS," which is the oldest city in the world; four being the world number.

  • 666 is the number of man, and it symbolises fitly, therefore, the essence of human wisdom, and also of imperfection.

  • 888 is the number or Gematria (substituting numbers for letters) of the name "JESUS."

  • 999 is the number connected with judgment, hence the numerical value of the phrase th orgh mou (tee orgee mou), my wrath, is 999. The same number is very prominent in the judgment on Sodom. (See further under Nine.)

What three things did Moses ask of God?

The Rabbis say that there were three things Moses asked of God:

  1. That the Schechinah might rest on Israel.

  2. That it might rest on none but Israel.

  3. That God's ways might be known to him. (Beracheth, fol. 7, col. 1).

What were the three gifts given to Israel?

Three precious gifts were given to Israel:

  1. The Law.

  2. The Land.

  3. The World to come (i.e., the Heavenly Calling).

Whatever may be thought of these, there can be no doubt that in the invariable employment of the number three in the Word of God, we have that which signifies Divine perfection.

I recently did a study on the Tabernacle and what every detail is and means

Colors have a big significance

but that is a different topic but there are   3 colors in  THE VEIL :

So, there are only 3 colors in the veil. This suggests the trinity. You could perhaps say that our Father in Heaven is blue, our Kingly savior is purple, and the Holy Spirit is scarlet, since life is in the blood, and we receive the Holy Spirit when our new life begins. Notice that the color red is serving a dual meaning here. This shouldn't be seen as a problem. God hides double meanings all over the scriptures.

The veil is in two parts and you will hear parts like HOLY OF HOLIES, which is becuase there are two Tents in the entrance one called the HOLY PLACE

The veil being the first entry is all described in Exodus 26...

every color , every number means a reference followed all thru the BIble concerning  Christ, blood, sacrifice, salvation , value of it, gold hooks,  and pillars which represent the idea of value or a purchase which is Christs blood which is the price of our salvation ...each thing is in a color

blood is red...salvation is blue the threads on the veils  the curtains and any cloth all mean something and you have to study this for years to get it all..

but the number 7 is strongly represented in the Tabernacle:::::Every item in the Tabernacle is there for a purpose: and all depict Jesus life from birth to death and our adoption thru his blood.

and our path to heaven...YOu have to study this to understand and I just am touching on an interesting few facts

Such as the number   7

One of the items was a lampstand of pure gold, with one branch in the middle, and three to either side. Today's menorahs hold  candles, but in scripture, they were oil lamps, seven of them total.

Seven represents the seven days of creation, the resulting seven day week, and finally the Sabbath day itself. The seventh day of creation was the day God rested, and the middle branch suggests itself as the seventh branch, being the branch that most immediately draws our eye. Therefore the lampstand itself is appropriately a reminder of creation and the Sabbath, which we were to keep holy for all time.

Like the hooks and the pillars, the lampstand was also made of
gold. Again, gold reminds us of the purchase of our salvation. However, in those days, gold was simply seen as the most valuable metal around. I find it appropriate that our Lord required us to use materials of such high value to forge the artifacts of the tabernacle. Just the use of gold was likely seen as a sacrifice of sorts.

As oil represents richness, and fire represents zeal, the flames were thought to represent God's work and His presence.

My suggestion for you; you should worry about not going to hell, I have very little interest talking to you on this subject since it will not help you to find freedom from sin.

Regards,
Shtal.

There are hundreds upon hundreds more useage of three in the Tabernacle which explains the whole  life from the beginning to the end of story of redemtion sacfice and substitution of man that was allowed by GOD for us to make our path to heaven
]]

WE THEN  see a description of the Tent and how the things in it , the Holy PLACE each mean something and in threes again we first see the Lampstand, the Table and the Bread of the PResence

The Table of Showbread instructed to put  12 loaves  of bread and arrange them in 2 rows, 6 in a row before GOD>

T he law required all this done by Gods design as given in Exodus and Leviticus 24
They were instructed to set the  Bread of the Presence on the table before ME, GOD at all times

NOW

We come to the number 12
The first thing to notice about the loaves of bread is that there are 12 of them. Any interpretation must therefore include the idea that these are somehow representative of the 12 tribes of Israel
 (the tribes of Israel)

I do not like their yellow .....
Next, it seems safe to assume that the showbread on the table is unleavened. If that’s the case, then the absence of leaven represents purity and absence of sin. But, the 12 tribes of Israel were not pure, and demonstrated many times that they were not without sin. So, what could this bread actually be representing? We need to look at what else is on the table for an answer.

Frankincense is placed by the bread (not on it, as some English translations suggest). The frankincense is then offered by fire in place of the bread. In other words, the frankincense is a substitution for the bread. To further accent this point, note that the bread is especially holy, “of the offerings for God made by fire.” By fire? Yes, the bread is indeed considered an offering made by fire. Yet, the frankincense is a substitution for it.

Hi  Shtal:

YOu should not make that statement.  A person of Travels knowledge, far greater in some things than me especially numbers..lol
can lead someone to see how it all fits together.

LEt me remind you Shtal::    Remember years ago when America was told , the way to conquer us americans was to go in thru the BACK DOOR''

DO not ever approach someone wanting to discuss with that attitude..Gsdtravels is making this posting \very much a connecting rod to the explanation of Proving the BIBLICAL importance in just NUMBERS>

HOW or WHAT IT TAKES  to piece it all in place, Shtal...at least she is reading and studying..YOU made your point..  WE are only suppose to PLANT the SEED...water it ..and  LET GOD DO THE REST.

back off
Anyone who digs into the study of the numbers, the colors, the signs and then one day it clicks or hits them in the noggin that wow......all of this connects....every last  dot and tittle..

NOW that I lost my frame of mind and what my thought to the number game is....GODS world consists of  inquiring minds....so lets cut the nonsense and lets present  solidarity not HAIRS.....

Remember Shtal and GOUDA......not everyone accepts what a human says,,,they like to see history presented and they want proof and GODS tablenacle is the most evident of how it all works. AND I cannot present it here as it takes almost a year to study it..BUT at least Travels did open something I like to do and that is search for the things that all line up perfectly in our world , Gods world and science and math and life an every little spec goes right Back TO GODS WORD>

Holey Moley YR, I have a lot of reading to do!  Went to be early last night and didn't expect to see two more pages!  YR knows I'm not the Devil, she knows I'm a good egg :)  Thanks YR.
Now, back to reading all of this!

GSDtravels

by GSDtravels on 21 December 2011 - 12:12

Oh, I'm excited YR, you came to one of the things I saw long, long ago!  It's the first number I pondered for long periods and it's also the master key:)

And you said you don't have a mathematical mind, but you do!  Anyway, I'm going to tackle this a little at a time, so I don't lose track.  My mind jumps around a lot, I see tangents everywhere!  I think that's what makes me question and study things, to make them gel.  It's probably A.D.D. or something weird, but it's me :)

"In this number we have quite a new set of phenomena.

We come to the first geometrical figure. Two straight lines cannot possibly enclose any space, or form a plane figure; neither can two plan surfaces form a solid. Three lines are necessary to form a plan figure; and three dimensions of length, breadth, and height, are necessary to form a solid.

Hence three is the symbol of the cube--the simplest form of solid figure. As two is the symbol of the square, or plane contents (x2), so three is the symbol of the cube, or solid contents (x3).

Three, therefore, stands for that which is solid, real, substantial, complete, and entire. All things that are specially complete are stamped with this number three:"

And hence, 3 is the number of matter, existence!  Intersections and tangents, solid matter!

So, we know that we have to have 3 dimensions in order to even exist.  And keep in mind that, since 3 is not only a prime, but it's the smallest prime that gives us shape, it has to be the rudimentary number of matter. And when divided by the whole (1), it's the first digit that goes to infinity.  It doesn't "exist" when divided by the whole, it all falls apart!  It cannot be "known" in three different contexts, but together, makes the whole.

So, now if we look at the most important Biblical representation of the number 3, the smallest prime to infinity, we see what?  The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

A representation of the whole, the part and the thing that either keeps it together, or makes it all fall apart, the "Spriit".  What is the spirit?  It's kind of like a glue.  But can we define it?

What is "SPIRIT"?  In the simplest terms, let's try to define it so that we can agree on the essence of it.

Any and all answers are welcomed, even silly ones

Shtal, I found freedom from sin long ago.  It's called PEACE, but it can only exist with permission.
