I understand there are many proceedures done on pups and adults that do work..BUT
this pup is not them. I see some underlying problems with this dogs health period...so my decisions are based on other indicators also.
Having been around many big time breeders and little breeders of mega pups and listened to what they have had to endure with the best lines of any, these kinds of things take knowledge to pursue.
THE condition this pup was sent under doesn't meet those criterias if you can see where I am pointing to..so I would not suggest anything but what I stand firm on.. for those indicators I see.
Maybe i know too much...so just take it at my face value..
I have three books with stories of SUCCESS stories so I know it happens..
BUT the whole picture of EACH pup has to be met first before you start FIXING>>
I could make a statement that my son standing here said, as he would sign on in his name, and make but I will not use it, as it would certainly offend some.
HE is a naturalist and he lives by the nature rule and he also has to live by it too.
Survival of the fittest....

I hope this thread will serve as a learning experience for anyone getting a puppy sight unseen and know your warranty inside and out should you do so.

I had nothing to do with setting up this warranty. It was set up by Hans and Jiri years ago. Jenny is right...even for those of us who are supposed to be big breeders....don't always have the cash flow to give money back. Abby...until we would change the warranty, if the boys decided to do so, I see it as unfair to go outside of the box. The warranty is the warranty is the warranty.....How do we differentiate who gets what? Do they get money and get to keep the dog? Lots of questions and variables. Not saying it is right or wrong but at this time it is what it is and for fairness sake we need to stand by it.
YR...I try to be...thanks
Schaferhunden.....PLEASE go play with the dog. All the statistics say it helps:)

I don't think that you get it, that because Chrissy was too niave to understand that her dog was shipped with one of the worst cases of an overbite anyone on this board has ever seen, that doesn't mean you get to wave a piece of paper at her to bully her out of her options. Your warranty was invalidated when Alpine shipped defective merchandise. Alpine K9 are the experts, not Chrissy, that is why she paid full price, is it not?
However, I am not interested in beating this dead horse, because Hans is on his way to Tuscon to make this right. I am sorry you are now the upset one, but I think you will get over it easier than poor Chrissy.

Beetree
So Again call her dense. She was the one who gave the OK for Prager boy to adjust her warranty. To give Chrissy what she should have gotten from the start. I wish i had a puppy to go out and play.Maybe you want to make me a offer i can not refuse????
She upset to have to fork over the money

Frank.... I haven't seen it but I do understand it is bad NOW....however how come she didn't see it for many days? Maybe it wasn't so bad at 8 weeks. She has said that she works in a vets office, so she might be a newby at GSD ownership but not a newby with dogs in general.

I was under the impression from what I had read (and I have no idea what page it is on) that she noticed the overbite the NEXT day, and phoned Hans immediately, and that it was almost 2 weeks before Hans returned the call. THEN she decided to keep the pup. I wonder if the shipping costs were part of that decision.
Edit to add: AND the fact that Hans told her it may fix itself.

"I admit that I sent the wrong pup. I was leaving for the airport at 330 am, yes you are right Hans was out of the country, and I was here by myself . In my half asleep state I grabbed the wrong pup."
Geezuz christ. Are you guys for real? Seriously? Wow.
And YES, if YOU guys "f*ck up" or make a "misstake", it should be the collective YOU (Hans/Jiri) that are out of pocket, NOT the customer.
Maybe you guys need to cut down on the number of your dogs if you keep making "misstakes" like that.
As for all the other crap, I will not bother rehashing it all. It should all be over shortly, Hans should be refunding Chrissy her purchase price AND shipping hopefully by the end of this week? Hans, be so kind and take cash or a Money Order for her ok, no czech checks. Chrissy, you should have someone there as a witness as well, and write him out a reciept for repayment in full. Anything less, is unacceptable.
Chrissy, your Nupro Silver is leaving via Fed Ex tomorrow as well.
Glad to see that there may be a light at the end of the tunnel, shameful it took 20 pages to get there..but at this point, it doesn't matter.
A LOT came to light in this thread. I'm sure this won't be the last time these broker/breeder names show up here either.
Do get back to everyone once you do your "homework" on the whole brother-sister breeding too Debbie,
the customer's own words were, she was NOT told it was a brother-sister breeding,
just that it was "tightly linebred" Christ, ya think? No damn fork in that family tree!
Guess it saves on emailing attachements of pedigrees though, you just have to send one for sire or dam.

As far as "answering many questions", thats part of business. Anyone that runs a business will either answer questions to the best of their ability, regardless of making money or not, in the sense it is a good practice to be helpful, it can result in the potential customer coming back to you for additional services. Part of life.
If you expect to get paid for every email, phone call etc you answer, then tell the potential customer that ahead of time.
What matters is, many things have come to light, business practices, "warranty's", etc.
Chrissy, we are all keeping our fingers crossed for Kaiser's elbows this week. And for you to recieve payment in full from Hans.
