That may be the position in that picture. Some of the other pictures look a bit more "Shepherd-esque." Striking dog, no matter the breed.

Hundmutter you are pretty tough but I can assure you that this is no hoax.
The new pic only makes me feel more strongly that he isnt pure breed, but boy what a handsome dog. Looks to tall also... IDK.

the text, can't you find the picture Harrisonsgsd26 recalls ?
Margaret: sable may have been "all but" bred out of German-based
showlines in America, that doesn't mean it has been bred out yet,
on the rest of the planet !

I have gone through all 776 pages and can not find that same picture. And I can say for certain, this picture:
I have found these pictures, but again I have no way of knowing what context they are being shown! No harm though in sharing, and maybe someone else can put the puzzle together for us all?
OLD TIME Shepherd in customary dress:

And this dog looks merle ...

The dog on the right, looks to have a beard and tell-tale merle spots, too?

This drawing is interesting.... merle or not? I have no idea!

And if I was going to put money on a cross with the subject dog ... this would be it... smooth-coated collie!

And this is just for fun!

THE END!
