You have to remember regarding Mrs Dodge and the whites, that back in the day they were still acceptable and the breeding between them and the colored dogs was acceptable also. I saw some other pics of her kennels and she had both whites and colors there.
Gustav I wish I was going to be there this year and see your dog. If you take pics Bitzen, I want to see one. Also you and Joan--wah wah and whine whine--I wish I could go this year and meet up with you guys........................I thought about taking the train there and back. But as a select few know, I will be getting ready to go to the opposite end of the country anyway..............

I didn't know that white was an acceptable color then, vonissk. Good information.

This is the link to another interesting article from the centennial site, this time about the selection and training of GSD's for seeing eye dogs.

Morning Blitzen, thanks for posting that page link. I went and read the article and then added it to my faves so I can check out the whole site later.

Every time I look at that site I find more interesting articles.

Geez, I wish my dogs were more "DISCERNING", so they'd accept hired help to care for them, and allow me to attend. &:-/ (just kidding, I wouldn't leave my dogs in the care of a stranger to them)
