Hexe, I very much doubt that you would use a WHOLE pack of anything for one flea pill for one dog !
Of course its better to wrap the pill in a piece of hotdog or cheese;  but if you have one of those dogs
which eats the cheese or meat around the tablet then spits it back out at you ...
If you were the sort of ineffectual owner who then went running to their vet saying "I can't get the dog
to take its medicine" because you could not bear to hold open your dogs jaws and stick a pill at the
back of its throat,  then you would surely be an owner who ought not  keep a Shepherd.

The trick with giving a dog a pill is to use coconut oil on a spoon with the pill hidden inside. Here is a great video to watch about the benefits of coconut oil. Enjoy!!

When my 8 month old (81 lbs) male GSD had a suspected case of Giardia in the summer, he received 250 mg Metro twice per day for 5 days. The insane diarrhea cleared up almost immediately. The interesting thing was that he completely lost his sense of smell for a good three weeks afterwards - he couldn't even follow a simple 20 foot straight line track with treats in every step.

Blimey, Laura, that's novel !!!  Anyone else ever heard of the loss of smell as a side effect ?

Eldee, I don't want to 'dis' the benefits of Coconut Oil,  but these particular dogs could eat a spoonful
of wet (canned) food, [which they valued as a treat since they were normally on complete kibbles], straight
off the spoon, and still spit out a pill from inside it !  Believe me, some dogs are that awkward / clever !!!
You would certainly want to be able to  enforce the tablet-taking, in the face of one or more dogs like that
in a multiple kennel where e.g. everyone needed worming...

I asked around the tracking community in my area and one person had the same experience with Metro (with her Miniature Schnauzer). Just something to keep in mind if your tracking training suddenly isn't going well. We just took a break for about a month and then his training went back to normal (he loves to track).
