*****UPDATE*****
LITTER FOUND!!!! The learning curve has been tremendous and fun. I have abandoned my quest for looks and gone with a breeding that "SHOULD" fit my need (Schutzhund). I do think the sire is a great looking dog and the dam even had "Mambo" in her lines! The litter is due mid Sept and I have pick (it has also been blessed by several of the more knowledgeable members of this board). The breeder knows WL and has offered to give me her recommendation. All is good...EXCEPT....
The Schutzhund Club I called two years ago when considering training my current GSD is not answering. Another member of this board told me there are no Schutzhund clubs left on LI. I did make contact with one club "Mid-Island" and the president seemed knowledgeable but voiced his preference for Malinois.
Does anyone know of any other clubs in the area (LI or Queens). Is this a sign that interest in the sport is waning? I would rather keep it close (yes I read the threads about Schutzhund = traveling) as I feel the more convenient it is...the more apt I am to continue.
And I thought finding the puppy would be the hard part!
