thanks, Joanro. You are one of the few people in the world who "get" me.

Indeed blitzen, malinois are not the best looking dogs, but, when you see one work...that single minded obsession to finish the job or die trying, its truly the most beautiful of all things to experience.
I find that single minded obssession obnoxious and wholly unpleasant. It's not something I'd want, but I won't knock somebody who does.

I've never owned a Mali, because I could never "betray" the GS. ....lol. But I also have never owned a GS that wouldn't work since I left the ASL in 1975. Since I have lived by the motto, " the beauty of the breed is in it's utility", I find the Malinois an extremely attractive dog.....and unfortunately I find many of my breed ugly by that standard....still, I would never "two time" on the GS....lol.

Some of you guys sure can't recognize a joke, can you? I wasn't serious about Malis, just giving it back a little to Hired Dog so he'd understand what it feels like to have your dog dumped on almost every post. Good thing you got rid of those ASL's, Gustav (and that's not a joke), you sure never pass up the opportunity to say something snide about them, do you? And just so y'all know, my ASL doesn't wear a Thunder Shirt. That too was meant to be fun.
Have at it....bye bye.

Really, HD? Well if anything I said suggested that, I apologize. and I will try to never leave you with that impression again. I actually have no preference, I see value in every GSD and most every dog of every breed. I practice what I preach. I even like malis, AKC and workinglines .

HD, I just skimmed over all the posts to this thread and I didn't see one that said anything at all negative about workinglines. Maybe I missed it? A few suggested the ASL weren't so great but nothing about workinglines. Which posts were you referring to?

Working dog people who own dogs that work dont really care about the same things that show dog people do and most of us think that the show ring killed working dogs.
I appreciate that you see value in every dog and i am glad you even like malinois.
It is very difficult to appreciate humor when you cant hear tone inflections, but, next time i am in your area at some show with my girlfriend, we can meet and you can see my dog.
