OGBS, that's what I was wondering...so there's no 'standard' test established? So in Germany, the test first-timer BH handlers take at an SV-trial has questions pertaining the the SV trial rules?
Anyone have a copy of the one used for first-time handlers doing the BH at a WDA trial? Now I'm wondering what that looks like.
I find it puzzling, in that the reason the whole test deal originated was in response to the anti-pit bull frenzy that arose in Germany, when the very concept of people who weren't in law enforcement or the military being permitted to work their dogs in activities that involved biting was under threat. At that time, my understanding of the SV's decision to add a written test for the handler test as part of their first BH was to establish that the handler had a sound knowledge of canines, before that handler started training their dog to bite. It certainly didn't seem intended to check the handler's familiarity with trial rules, since it was unlikely the pit bull-hysterical public and local officials gave a damn if a dog owner knew how many dogs an SV judge could judge in a single day--they just wanted some sort of reassurance that the people training their dogs to bite had at least a basic knowledge of canine behavior and responsible dog ownership.
I don't have to take the test, since I've done the BH before, but it still is of interest to me, if for no other reason than trying to figure out how one training genre can have so many variations in the requirements and rules.

Hexe, you can't really compare AKC OB rules designed for ONE country with the FCI rules that must be translated and interpreted for many countries. All of the countries also seem to have their own variances like USCA allows 3 dogs to be trialed by one handler where as the norm is to allow only 2.
As OGBS said, the BH test is designed for the organization sanctioning the trial.
