so i guess u will keep him for life now? i feel sorry for the other owners also they probably are pretty depressed right now
I hope they rescue a dog maybe just pick another breed they would be great dog owners i bet maybe they can go to a high kill shelter and rescue a nice sweet mixed dog that is a bit smaller and easy to care for? I hope they dont give up on having a dog though.

Nothing wrong with the weight on YR dog, it is a fad that people want overweight Dogs i really cannot understand why this is, Anything over weight is not good for the subject certainly not Dogs. I am just off to a trial this morning where two and three Dogs G.S work on the field together in Sync with each other there are sets of twos and threes, and the dogs work about 3 yards apart from each other, However there teeth and Chips or Tattoos have to be looked at, Plus they have there height measured,
Last night at the Club i was doing the Judges part of that to the entries from our Club for a bit of practice for the handlers and there dogs, and after you have measured the dog you stroke it and run your hand down its back to see if it is sociable, The Dogs i moved my hand down there backs you could feel the Back bone very easy.
My own Gina you can feel her backbone Yet she is a fit Lean muscled up dog like the ones i looked at last night No excess weight a credit to the owners skill in feeding there Dogs including mine. All these bulked out Dogs is wrong and it is not going to help the dog in any way in fact continue like that and you will shorten the Dogs life by a couple of years

Thanks for the CORRECT info on feeling and determing the correct weight of a german shepherd and how I keep mine. NOTICE his ribs are not showing..but his backbone is.!!! HE has gained about 1 pound , by my eye observance.
BUT as stated by me again and again....MOST vets do not like this, most lay people of buying a german shepherd from one of us who are more HEALTH conscious than HYPE of FOOD SATISFIES my DESIRES>>>>>do not agree. FIRST thing out of mouth...OH MY this dog is grossly underweight or WAY TOO SKINNY..
THANKS
ONLY because of dry skin, shedding and a few pounds under, I agreed that REX did need three times a day feeding in smaller amounts and for the next three months, constant watching of his intake to make sure he gets all minerals and vitamins in correct RAW MEAT or kibble or any thing he eats , to assure he gets his vitality of LIFE back..
I am also adding a tsp of DE to his raw chicken or hamburger...HE ate two big BREASTS of CHICKEN raw at 11 am today with garlic and olive oil...EXTRA VIRGIN on it...
