LOL, we used to eat cow's tongue when I was a kid. My grandpa would cook it, boil it with celery & onions & parsley, peel off the layer with the taste buds---ewww!-- & slice it up for sandwhiches with mustard, tasted like lunch meat....prob'bly better than the lunch meat sold today....!laugh Hope your doggies like it! jackie harris BTW--I haven't tried it since then either, I was maybe....6 or 7 years old? So......

Haha thats funny my mom used to make it, it was New Years tradition. I loved eating it when I was younger, especially thinly sliced with some russian mustard on it. A few years back I was visiting and opened my parents fridge and saw the cow tongue whole, before it was cut up, and it looked as if it was human tongue. I stopped eating red meat after that.  Just a thought of cow organs looking like human, or could be human organs didn't hold well on my stomach. lol

LOOOL...realmccoy...so sorry...

I have a weird story too..when i was a kid i used to pay with this black baby bull, he was born on my grandmas farm and when i came for summer he was less than a month old..we would play hide and seek around barn, i would feed him bread soaked in milk, and by the end of summer I was able to ride him..I was about 6-7 years old..he was solid black and was growing like a weed...he was my buddy in my grandmothers house where there was no one else my age....i was send to grandmas every summer while school was out, I said goodbye in August and went back to school....so when we came back for Christmas...I was looking forward to seeing him....I walked into a barn did not see him, than walked into a "summer" kitchen (separate from main house) and saw a big black head on a metal sheet and huge purple tongue hanging out....I was traumatized by that...it wasn't that i never seen a dead cow or bull it was my buddy....i didn't eat the whole weekend while we were there and that purple tongue hanging out of his mouth haunted me for years...

dag sorry kid. Your story is definately more touching. They killed your buddy and ate it, and you saw that as a kid. I woulda probably joined PITA if that happened to me. No joke

Lady Frost---I had a similar experience, not as bad as yours, but our Mom gave us kids a bunch of chicks when we moved to a farm, they were so cute, little yellow fuzz-ball peeps...but they all grew up to be roosters, not hens like my mom was hoping for. So she sold them to a guy who said he'd come & pick them up. Well, he came with a burlap sack, & we had to chase them around to catch them. When we caught them, we proudly gave them a last hug & good-bye snuggle, & handed them over, expecting them to be placed in the sack......well, NO! He took each rooster & HACKED OFF their HEADS! And then let them stagger around headless, squirting blood everywhere! OMG! My mom was livid...she did not expect us to be subjected to a massacre! My brothers & I cried for a whole week-end, I threatened to ride off on my horse & never come home.....but it passed, thankfully. jackie harris

Ruger1....I ask for knuckle bone...they used to show me pre-cut pieces but I ask for a whole, so they bring out the whole bone and ask me where do i want it cut....whats left..well...not much...I seen yesterday a round part of the actual bone about 2 inches wide the actual knuckle was completely gone..they eat 90% of those bones it takes them few days and multiple dogs chewing on it..but they get it down to almost nothing...

Jackie...oh my god...that horrible...i seen a rooster w/o it's head running around yard too, but he was a mean sob..so i did not mind..LOL..but yeah if its your pet...that just horrible..
