nova, I agree absolutly. I am not going to harass a business (or anyone) regardless of who is right or wrong.

That is not the issue. Did the buyer get the papers or not. Anyone buying a dog at these prices would expect them, including all here who go OT with their views.

No I never got the papers.  When I was looking for a dog back then Most of what was on the net bc I needed an already trained dog, were people who were wanting to ship a dog in a crate with an instructional video.  Really that is what I had to choose from. Seemed like it was the norm of how this business worked when I was looking.
I really didnt want that. I wanted to see there was a storefront for real and I wanted to choose a dog that had chemistry.  I live in GA and Florida was driveable. So I was greatful that the one I found that wasnt like buying a pet rock and it was driveable so I could get there and get back there if necessary because of the training guarantee.

The industry advertising has changed alot since then.  SO I went and met several dogs and just didnt feel it. They each came out with a handler sat next to me like told and then demonstrated the bite work and the off commands. Each demo lasted maybe 15 minutes. They were outside in the hot Fla sun and most dogs just wanted to dig a cool spot under the tree.  The last dog I was shown was Tina and I was told that she had this scar on her head and she got it from chasing someone under a car. Who knows if the story is true or not? I know it was well healed by then so it wasnt recent.  They really didnt want to show her to me bc of the scar and she looked like she had been "fence fighting" her mouth had a sore spot on it and Im told it was from biting at the bottom of the chain link. This is what they told me. She did have a swollen lip and she was pretty thin in comparison. So that may have been true she was prob burning alot of calories but I dont know just know what I was told. Then I was told that they had decided to probably use her as a breeding bitch in there slowdancer dogs because of the scar and most people would not overlook it. I was ready to leave and continue trying to shop and they decided to show her to me. She ran over to me jumped up in my lap licking me to death. The chemistry was instant.  Im sure at this point they just thought internally we just sold a dog we thought no one would buy bc of her head scar.  Yes I wanted a high quality dog bc she would be no good to me if her hips went bad etc but a scar that does not affect her life other than being judged as not as beautiful as she was I could handle. If it had not been for the scar on her head I wouldnt remember all this so vividly.  It is crystal clear to me. I insisted I did want her papers and her hip xrays and I was told yes of course but it is our policy not to issue them until 3months bc someone in the past returned a dog without the papers and they changed their policy. I know this is where I am being called stupid and what not but they were matter of fact about this policy and Im a rule follower so if that was the rules then I would follow the rules.
Three months roles by and I call Wendy and she tells me oh yeah I meant 6 months..at this point I own the dog I cant stop payment on a check but looking back now I was gonna pay with a credit card thinking maybe it would be protection of some kind for me but they didnt want the card and told me that the fee for processing the card on a transaction that high was too much so they only took card if you were willing to pay the fee too. Monday nite quarterbacking is easy to do and I should have just paid the fee too if that allowed me to somehow protest payment until I get the papers and xrays ( I dont know what the rules on that and how that works etc with a live animal purchase)  I by the way was there and getting married on the beach this same weekend. So for the people who are hard on me bc my ex husband injured me so bad well he was still on his good behavior his glass house hadnt crashed yet.
6 months roles by and I call her again asking for the papers and I was told oh yeah no problem we are so busy busy busy so busy

YES

by duke1965 on 16 October 2010 - 15:10

funny , how people are still allways misled by the SV , hollywood etc into believing that showlineshepherds can do the job
99% of the showlinesheps CANT be serious personal protection dogs , because thats not what they are bred for over many generations ,they are bred for running round the ring and stand pretty ,  however for movies and advertisements they keep showing us the pretty showlinedog  doing it all

if I see a webside with homebred showline protectiondogs , I know not to shop there but unfortunately , many are still misled by the SV mediamachine

we have a explosivesdetection unit on the airport , working with workingline GSD and malinois
when they had a full page  article in yhe biggest newspaper all the pics showed showline dogs  from which none was actually working there

the big question is , how do we educate people not to fall for thes phoney stories  , and get the right dog for the right job

PS , I dont have a problem with showline dogs or people , only with people misrepresenting these dogs to make $$$$$$

FWIW, I have met this dog and the owner. She brought the dog to us to help with training issues. The dog is not from working lines from what I recall, (I think it was about a year ago she was here). We did not see or hear from them again after the initial consultation.
At this point, I would think the only recourse would be to hire an attorney and/or contact the Florida Attorney General's office. While I understand you want the papers and xrays, they are of no use to you at this point. I wouldn't think you would be breeding her (have no idea if she is intact or not), so papers would be just something to put in a file. I would be thinking about how much time I'd want to spend chasing after these so-called papers which probably don't exist anyway.
If you think it will help others, then report them to BBB, if that's an option. You can post reviews on applicable sites, but you need to make sure you are providing facts and not getting emotional about it. I'm not taking issue with anything you've said either way, just saying if you want people to take your reviews seriously, then the review needs to sound businesslike, not personal. As long as you can back up your grievances, then do what you can and move on. Consider it a hard lesson learned, we've all had our share.
At least you'll know better what to look for (I would hope) the next time you are looking for a family protection dog.

Im sure most people on here would have grievences if they paid for a dog and were promised the pedgree.
It appears to me this girl loves her dog very much. Actually it seems as though the dog is the person she trusts because people have let her down including this forum. This is no place to judge anyone. If I bought a dog and was promised the papers and xrays then that is what I would expect.

Jeff has issues with dogs bought with limited papers and his view is it is his dog at that point to do what he wants to with it.  Whys is this much different? She paid alot of money for a dog and didnt get all of what she paid for,

I can understand her wanting the baseline OFA Xray and the dogs lineage.  I agree an attorney should see the contract and she may have been wronged and a court can help her with that,

However what if this Floriday K9 Services has done this to many people? At the cost of each dog this may fall under fraud? Im sure if I was one of those people I would want in on the suit.

Well said, Cille. I am disgusted by some of the responses to the OP. I am sure there is not one person on this board that would not want what they paid for and were promised. For some to attack her as they did is unconscionable.
