Hans, this is a wonderful reminder to all who own guns, they need to be checked for amo in the chambers. Kids always find them. I am also glad you are still with us.

Jackie, I also had Hospice for my Step Father. They were wonderful, kinda funny now that I look back on this, I was not wrapping my mind around that he was Passing in a few hours, and they kept asking me to provide the mortuary name, I kept telling them I would,  They were so patient with me. It is a good thing we are not all built alike, that to me would be a very depressing job.

Yes it is a good reminder. I am still a "gun nut" though.
All bad is usually good for something. I now try not tho drop a  loaded antique guns and have, thanks to this accident my love  Debbie ( I call her Debbinka, little Debbie in Czech) who is a nurse and she is the one who called the 911 and took care  of me after they send me home and was removing and stuffing into my chest 25 ft of gauze dressing every day. In order to take care of me she took me to her house after they released me from intensive care,....  and I have never left. :))) This the best thing which happened to me since I came to USA 30 or so years ago. Great way to get a girl. But I think,.... there must be easier way.
Take care.
Hans

Hans, Not the best way to seek a mate! LOL!

Cheryl & 1doggie2, When I went to nursing school 26 years ago, I wanted to work in mother/baby, but instead I drifted into critical care, & then to Hospice. I was drawn to the holistic nature of the practice, to the commitment of the practitioners. It is truly a 'calling'. To me, there are many parallels between coming into the world, & leaving it. It helps to have someone standing by. God bless you, & my condolences. jackie harris

Hans, very uplifting post as well as yours Sunsilver. I read with amusement the hate and anger that is spewed on these forums especially the General Topic forum and then a post like this puts many of these things into perspective. The only constant in this world is that WE all will leave this world. Some will have made postive contributions and for them the world will be better in the future for others. In this regard Prager, you are still here to continue to contribute to this wonderful breed....Peace!

Hans, I'm glad that you not only survived, but learned more about life and love along the way.  And glad you're still with us!  Everything is connected and if that's what you had to go through to find your true love, I'm sure it's worth it in the end!

I hardly come to this site any more because of the craziness, but glad I came today. Hans, your posts are always insightful and helpful and I love you website, dream of getting my next pup from you I agree much of the fighting comes from the pssion people have for dogs, but that passions should unite and not divde us. In 2002 I had spreading cancer and was given a year to live, but by the grace of God I am still here. My father died suddenly in his sleep 11 years ago, amd seemed in perfect health, while my mother suffers with Alzheimers and is slowlly just fading away. Came home from Church May 31 2009 to find my beloved GSD has died in the back yard and not quite nine,
We all have a terminal diesease because no one gets out of this life alive and it's not how long we live, but what we do with the time given that matters and to me that means leaving nothing good undone,  and nothing bad unforgiven.
