Darn it, they are of good breeding. The one in the natural stand looks almost like Jen's Strider. To me they look like they are closer to 17 mo old.

Those are gorgeous, well-bred boys. Could you maybe leave them intact a bit longer to see if someone claims them with the additional publicity and good pics of them up? It's possible someone IS looking for them and through circumstances, they are somewhere far from where they were expected to be.

Maybe someone on here will recognize them and know who they belong to? I would be SHOCKED if someone wasn't missing them, and saddened!  I know I would be nauseous if I was looking for my missing dogs and found them neutered....so maybe a few more days to see if someone comes forward?

Steph, jumping on you does not mean they were ignored or neglected. There are people who don't believe in correcting for that. Also, they don't know you from Adam and probably have very little respect for you; they may behave totally different for their handler. Mine can be like that sometimes.

I can't believe no one recognizes where they may have come from. Steph, what about those Yahoos in Montana? You know, the ones w/the big black GSDs??? They advertise their big stud on here sometimes...I've made fun of the ad before.

I thought of those idiots too Jen. I think they did have a litter this past spring or last fall. Their teeth are so white it is frightening, that is why I thought a year old. They act like BIG puppies too. They have no manners at all. I can usually work with any dog and they listen. These 2 I know have not been handled much.

They are scheduled for neutering on Wednesday afternoon. So we have that much time to find their homes. I can postpone longer if we have any leads...they are fighting occasionally, being littermates and all....

They came in as strays from Idaho Falls, ID....I will contact the idiots in Lolo, to see if they are their dogs. They won't want them anyhow.
Remember they asked me to help them rehome one of their dogs???

Those are two gorgeous boys.Dogs do find them selves in some bizzare situations, and owners  find their dogs years later in different states.
I have to agree with Jenni.Unless they are causing problems with each other or the other dogs, i would hold off on neutering them for a little longer. They do look like well bred dogs and I think the owners should be given TIME to find them.
I lost my little Bedlinton terrier female awhile back. She was found 4 towns away, three days later. she was barely out of my yard when a woman passing by, thought she was a 'lost" poodle, and took her home.
I went to ALL the shelters in 4 counties looking for her, but since the woman  that found her described her as a poodle, I was always told ,NOPE, ain't heard of any found Bedlingtons. I had to ask what dogs were found.
Also, dog thieves are alive and thriving all across the country. For all we know, these dogs were picked up as the beautiful black shepherd pups ,and than as they got older, were found to be more
dog(s) than what they were expecting and just got dumped off.
(and I have know numerous solid black German Shepherds over the years, and ALL were heavy boned, solid dogs. I never knew Blacks were considered NOT as solid as the other colors)

Could their teeth be that white because they're fed decent food or raw even and not necessarily just because they're young? I think their build is a bit mature for a year old, but different lines mature differently, so I could be wrong. Actually, what Elkoorr said about one looking like Strider is very true, and kind of what made me think they're a bit older. It's possible they were someone's farm dogs and thus the lack of manners, but were fed well.  I have seen dogs with crappy teeth at under a year, when fed crap food. I would guess they're closer to a year and a half or so.

Do you ever use Craigslist, Steph? What if you posted their pics there and asked people to crosspost? I just think it's highly unusual that TWO gorgeous boys like this were found together. Someone HAS to know who they are. <sigh>

As Joanie said, it's possible also that they have been mis-identified in the past and their owners were turned away. I am SHOCKED at some of the breed names put on some dogs. When my cat was missing, I insisted on seeing all the cats myself; I didn't trust the employees to say no maine coons were there.
