Well said Bill - I dont think the League will leave us up in the air, they have been very helpful and pro-active to all throughout this sage  -  but a press officer for them is probably a good idea, as they will be leading the helm of lots of things going on., in fact, I feel they are seeming the only credible WUSV/SV Club.    Always was a better idea to have one club not two, and the fact that the two clubs didnt get on didnt ever make life easy.  Both clubs have such differing opinions and such different committees.    Mo.

Bill , excellent suggestion and something that should be looked into as soon as possible. All communication should be vetted and presented to the media via one office ( Our Press Office) this is the way forward. Too many people making statements from different sectors of the League and any affiliated clubs is not in the interest of any plans we may have for the future. I am sure the League are well aware of this and will no doubt keep us informed .

Regarding Press Releases and info from the League. Very much work in progress. Please keep watching the GSDL Website. Also various other items will gradually come to light. Nothing sinister just to keep us all in the loop. hope that helps.

Bill having had time to analyse why I still felt so strongly about what the Kennel Club are doing is reflected in the post I have made on the new GSDL thread and repeated here for all those who had the same thoughts as you as to why I continued to care. All the best,  Sue b
BELOW COPIED FROM MY POST ON THE GSDL THREAD
Sentiments echoed by West Yorkshire GSD Club, albeit in less detail, in the last paragraph of their letter to notify the KC the reasons for them not signing the undertaking quote "We wish the Kennel Club continued success in working towards the implementation of Mandatory Health initiatives across all Pedigree Breeds, until then, we feel the current climate towards Pedigree Dogs is in need of dedicated Breed Clubs to run the type of Show Events where Mandatory Health testing is a prerequisite to the awarding of any Top Show accolade and to promote the fact that only the best and healthiest specimens of our breed should be bred from." end quote.

The fact remains that we will always hope the KC continue to work towards the introduction of more stringent (i.e. Mandatory) Health tests before registering litters and for anyone of us as a club or an individual to want anything less or for the KC to always fail to recognise its responsibilities to the world of Healthy Pedigree Dog Breeding would be hypocrisy of the highest order.

On the other hand as it stands at the moment, it is the KC themselves who have chosen to eliminate these Clubs from further discussions. Eliminate the very clubs who are the ones putting Health and Welfare before Kennel Club CC's, the very clubs who therefore appear to be the MOST CARING about the INTRODUCTION OF MANDATORY HEALTH TESTS for our breed. To the point of being prepared to relinquish its prestigious KC Championship Status in order to be totally free to run the type of shows (WUSV style) that require these tests.

So you see Doppleganger, some are capable of putting the breed first and for those who frequently say, why cant you just forget the KC and move, dont worry we are moving on (this GSDL statement proves that) but to forget the KC and not keep trying to let them SEE THE LIGHT, would be to turn our backs on all the German Shepherds the KC are allowing the irresponsible, uncaring breeders and puppy farmers to keep producing. That is why, despite the fact that as a Club we are FREE to organise, hold and run a WUSV type show every year without the restriction of waiting for KC approval or any restraint which might come with it, we ultimately still care about every GERMAN SHEPHERD bred here. That is our duty of our breed clubs and its members as custodians of our breed here in the UK.

We look forward to early notification coming from the League to all the non signee Clubs and cant wait to get involved in progressing the new future show scene for the GSD here in the UK. Exciting, interesting times ahead for all.

Best Regards
Sue b
