Jen,

Please show me where Chrissy asked us to "back off?'  It seems nothing happened until Hans was outed, actually nothing has really happened yet.  But progress is hopefully has being made.  Have you spoken to either party directly or are you getting the "back off" notion from her posts?  I think Chrissy appreciates the concern and support given to her here and is thankful for that.

Hans, has had 6 months to correct his mistake.  The longer he takes now the worse he looks.  My next recommendation would be setting up a account for donations for the surgery and a legal fund.  Sorry, but he knew about his admitted "f*** up" months ago.  No more excuses or BS.

Frank, I don't think Jinopohans needs to pay vet bills at all. A refund of purchase price and shipping is all. Vet bills are her choice.

Chaz,
Your my boy, just like "Blue."  But, he needs to at the very least pay for the over bite treatments, in addition to a full refund and shipping.  I would sue for that, that dog should never have been shipped and it is an obvious "f*** up" and a glaring physical deformity.  There is no excuse and that has started the whole issue.  I'm not even sure shipping that dog was a mistake.  Jiri was clear to Hans to inspect each dog to make sure Hans got the "right dog" and not this one.

I thought I sensed that Chrissy might want to cool things down a little while she worked this out with Hans. My only concern is that it should take no time at all to work it out, and I really don't want to see her 'shafted' again, if say he's trying to get her to accept half or something.  I hope Chrissy realises that this board is her support and leverage in her current dealings with Hans.

Jim (may I call you that?), she has stated a couple times that she was communicating with Hans on trying to work it out "if that's even possible at this point" or something to that effect and she said way back that she wished she'd been ASKED BEFORE Jinopo was "outed" by someone else. There was clear reluctance on her part to name names at this point. I feel that should have been respected because this is her dog at stake.

When did Hans find out about the hips? Unfortunately, he has bad teeth and bad hips, but I don't think it's fair to say he knew about the hips for 6 months unless I really screwed up and misread. I agree with Chaz. I know of NO ONE who pays vet bills as part of their guarantee. I would possibly pay them in certain situations, but I would want to be consulted and the decision made together before someone tried to hol me responsible for vet bills that they chose to incur. And I am NOT saying I disagree with anything Chrissy has done; I was speaking generally.

You guys can post away. At this point, I know this thread gives me the leverage Abby speaks of that will make Jinopo think twice about going outside their warranty. Whether or not it actually happens, I guess we'll find out since Hans and I are still communicating. I'm just glad to have so much support. :)

And just so it's noted, I actually don't blame the breeder for the hips. I know it's something they couldn't have known. And if this were just about the hips I would be more then happy to stick with the warranty. I don't even expect vet bills to be paid; that, as Chaz pointed out, was my decision that I know the breeder would've never agreed with anyway. I just feel this entire issue goes beyond that.

Just my insignificant opinion... lol... I have been reading this post for days and have finally come to this....

1) The breeder had the dog from birth ... right up until he put in the shipping crate.
2) The breeder KNEW about the overbite.
3) The vet KNEW about the overbite (yet provided a certificate of health??? What exactly does that   certificate say??? If the dog was tattoed the tattoo number should be on the certificate of health.

If you ask me... the vet has performed MALPRACTICE and the Breeder has committed a crime (a bait and switch).

The broker is the middle man... it was not his job to inspect a pup that came with a BREEDER'S GUARANTEE AND A CERTIFICATE OF HEALTH! (Though yes, he "should" have) He identified the dog by it's tattoo (ALONG WITH THE OWNER)... and to be fair... they BOTH had the opportunity at that time to go over the dog/paperwork before accepting it.

Again.. just my opinion for what its worth.  Personally, I could not put down a dog I had raised for 8 months ... but that would be my problem.

Agree it is shady. It is really sad when you see the same people involved time and again.

amy,
You are correct except the broker and breeder are partners...In a sense the broker is the breeder if you read his other posts

Chrissy, I agree with you, bad hips happen and if the dogs behind your pup have good hips there can be no blame laid. That is just bad luck and it happens to the best of us. I also agree with others who say you cannot expect vet bills to be paid. It would be nice but I think that has to be considered your choice and therefore l outside of what you could expect from any breeder warranty, to be fair.

I can only conclude from what you have said that despite being in contact with you Hans has not actually offered you anything at this point.
