Not all dogs that are bred are bred for the Show ring or loosely called, the sports arena. Many are bred for other jobs/fields.

I absolutely agree with the GSD being bred for whatever job/arena/hobby they are able to serve in. that is breeding with a purpose or goal in mind.

a lot of people breed dogs for Christmas money, that's the point I go in a different direction.

It was when first looking for a PPD that I found them to be labeled as product.

Rik, I occasionally have a litter. If that litter is to be born anywhere near a Holiday I refuse to say that I have a such and such Holiday litter. I hate to see Ads that do and would refuse to buy from that breeder as to me they are in it mainly for the money, even if they show or work their dogs.

If you have a good program you don't need that kind of advertising to help you sell.

As to "known dogs" - if you go back to & beyond Generation 5, many of the origins of this dog are clearly German Showlines. [Even the 'American wing', which includes Lance of Fran-Jo, goes back to German dogs, of course, as do many of those regarded as 'Czech'.]  However, even if what you were aiming at in reproduction of these bloodlines was:  a good companion animal, perhaps still with some basic sports / bitework capability, that sticks to the conformation element of the Breed Standard in its modern (& European) interpretation, then I think that the most recent 3 generations have been so "thrown together" by whoever bred them, it would be almost impossible to guarantee ANYTHING about the results, either structurally or temperamentally. Or from a genetic health point of view. Truly a crap-shoot. If you buy one, I hope you get lucky.

These dogs are 'purebred German Shepherd Dogs' almost in name only, IMO.

if i was looking to pay less than 400$ for a pet,then this would be a decent pedigree,but other than the fact that this is a german shepherd breeding..i see nothing to peak my intrest,i would consider this a "byb",pet level breeding at best,i would select,imprint and train my pup to the best of my ability,and "let tne chips fall where they may"...not seeing how anything beyond 300-400$ could be justified..good luck,i hope you'll show me how wrong i am about your choice of breedings.

Probably a wise decision. Odds stacked against this litter; even if they turn out to be perfectly 'nice' companion dogs, they may well cost their owners a small fortune in health problems, &/or not be much use if they are wanted for specific purpose e.g. sports, or proper work. Vazquezpits, I hope you do get one eventually, but please learn about this breed and do your research first.
