My dog has a line of AKC 'white GSDs 'way back in her pedigree. I entered the dogs as GSDs so it could be part of the pedigree, and asked an admin for help. GSD Lineage consolidated my entries with entries that had existed as 'White GSDs'. Problem solved.
The splitting of breeds into colors and coat length is a pain b/c it narrows the gene pool, and it's a pain for pedigree analysis.
I haven't even looked into how the SV's registers long stock coats now as they can be shown now but only in a separate class. Hopefully that is still one registry, and short and long stock coats can be bred together.
