seems the op has enough sense to see and respond to things in a rational manner and handled him/herself well. a good trait for a breeder to have because you will get your motives scrutinised by strangers and if you lose it, you will become a target for such.

blitzen you need to take a lesson there.

after a pm i realise the sticking point was the comment "hardly anyone else does" , exageration on my part.

i was also requested to state what my standards are;

the assumed elements of the breeder:  business ethics, welfare of animals, knowledge of all aspects of breed, after  sales service, monitoring of progeny when they leave home, clear fall back plan for returns.

the desired elements of the dog: mobility, mobility, mobility, nerve, nerve, nerve, drive, agression, courage and some brains.

(note the absence of color and shape)

thats about it.

I'm not fazed much by rude comments cause even some of those have their place. I assumed I said something that made me sound like a retard, which is incredibly easy to do online (especially since I'm on my phone as my laptop hates me) so I figured I'd kinda add what I've put into starting as a breeder. I know I'm not where other breeders are but I'm getting there and I'm not going to not ask questions even if they get me in some trouble cause I'll never learn if I'd don't ask.  So feel free to share what you want but understand I'm still learning so go easy on me. I assumed giving everything my girl is doing would explain why I think she is breed worthy and why she is what I want in my breeding program. Anything else needed, let me know. I can tell you she does have all the elements you stated. Mobility, drive, nerve, courage and brains. She doesn't have aggression but she has fight drive, and my trainer said she is more than likely civil as when she bites she stares them in the eye as she shakes the crap outta their arm lol. I think she is gorgeous, but looks aren't as important as structure.

P.S. I'm female ;-)

my concern is your comments seem perception based and amount to not much more than hearsay,  to an old cynic like me i would want more hard evidence to back your claims.

I do also have a contract that I'm having to shave down cause I realized I was asking to much :-/ but pups are microchipped before they leave me and I'm on the contact list. They are also on a first rights where I get them back no matter why they have to give the dog up. And this litter is on limited with no breeding so I can see what she produces before I start breeding any of her offspring. Plus a bunch of other things I won't bore you all with :-)

I can't post video of bite work but I'm gonna try to figure out how to get some on YouTube. And you can contact the UKC for her conformation scores if you want. I'd love to give you more than my word, but as it is now I can't on this forum. You can get on Facebook though. PM me for that.

I'm looking into a go pro to show her doing SAR but that's expensive. But I can't really take video of her as one, I don't see her most of the time she is searching, two, she jumps on my chest to indicate she's found someone so I'd break my camera, and three, my SAR trainer doesn't want official trainings recorded. But I totally understand that it's hard to believe without evidence. And as far as her being a service dog ADA law states there are no legal certifications so if someone flashes one, they are dumb or lying.

sounds like you have given this due consideration - good for you.

apologies if i sounded rude, seen too many bad things.

would love to see her but i don't do face-book.

You were harsh, but with good reason. I'm new, yes, so I expect criticism. Don't mind criticism if there is help somewhere in there too. I'll be asking more questions as I think of them. And I'll attempt to get video and picture proof for you ;-)

Edelmann, I wish every poster who comes on PDB and says they are going to breed will read and learn from your posts ^^^ !

Diid I wish you 'good luck' ?  I know this is the Net and anyone can tell ya anything, be anything ...  but if I thought everybody

breeding GSDs was like you sound, I'd die happy.

Linda.
