So was he limping or something to make you want to x-ray him so young? Just curious? Thx Nan
PS: second x-rays look somewhat better; he does really look in good condition weight wise and muscle wise; BOl with him...

Agree with Blitzen about sending them in to see what OFA says and let us know. They don't look to shallow, but may have some changes on the femur neck/ball. I don't have much experience with 6 month old x-rays, so he might just be normal for his age/growth.
I think it is pups left hip according to the marker on the second pic x-ray.
Best wishes for a good outcome.

No limping or signs of anything. We always get xrays at 6mos old. it has always worked in the past that is they are not normal or showingf some signs of change hanppening, they don't get better. I have always asked here for opinions, and you guys have always given great opinions and are usually right.
We just don't want to continue training on a young pup that may have issue and make it worse on the pup. Before we started xraying at 6mos we had a pupy from solid Hip background, and at 9 mos old he started limping. We thought it was pano. Ended up with severe hd. Don't want to put another pup through that.

Totally agree Hutchins; I have done x-rays as early as 4 months particularly on boys so that I could determine what to feed, how to exercise, care of environmental future, etc. Has been a pretty good practice, also has been on occasion a disappointment; but helps to determine exericse program which all need regardless of hips/elbows, also determined for me whether they could be in a cement kennel run or have a need for crate rest and exercise on soft grass, etc. Good luck with him and may I ask what you feed? Just curious and only for my own benefit and comparisons. Thx Nan

This is one of the youngest I had done at 9 months old. He came back dysplastic- Years ago. I took the picture of his x-ray so it isn't a digital but you should be able to see the changes and his subluxation on right hip. He was never bred. He is one I had purchased. :(
