Ridiculous... I´ll never get it....
We are talking about working dogs, and the dogs listed above didn´t achieve anything yet ?!?
It´s a shame for the buyers, who don´t know anything about working dogs, and it´s a shame for the sellers, who try to make a quick buck.

"Coincidentally" (or not?) one of the ads Northwoods mentions is strikingly similar to that belonging to one of the folks who was interested in Little Mohawk (as Susie calls him) FOR STUD.
Sure, let's brag about DM testing and make our dogs out to sound like a million dollars, but at the end of the day, sure, we'll breed blues with parts in their heads!

Well Jenni,
Didn't you realize what a gold mine you have. You have one of those rare "split-part" GSD's. Heck he may be the first of his kind.

He still says it's the mark the devil put on him.
I should put new pics of him up. He is so OMG gorgeous...then there's that head. LOL His ears and head are turning red and I bet when he's mature, he won't have that anymore. There is hair over it, he's just got this wrinkle still that sticks up. He, of course, has the biggest bone, the deepest red, the straightest front, the best feet, the best croup, the most amazing head...LMAO. Murphy's Law at its finest.

How much a dog is worth is 100% subjective IMO,,I would / will pay "a lot" for what I want,,,Cars, homes, jewelry, horses, etc,,,we all have "things" we spend in excess on,,,Fool ? No, just my prerogative and preference,,:)

Spending a lot of money on what you want is one thing, but the problem with dogs is you rarely get what you want. You buy a puppy for show or work, you hope it turns out. Few people describe a dog correctly. People have different definitions of different turms. Then you have the used dog salesmen that are straight up liars. How many that have bought several dogs have discovered problems that the seller never told you about? Most
One of my favorate ads says "Top Sport, PP, Dual purpose Police and a family dog". Damn if it ain't "Rin Tin Tin! Don't we all need a dog that plays with our kids, kills an intruder and knows who has good intentions and who has bad, all the while he scores 300 points at nationals and find 500lbs. of drugs all in a days work.
Priced too high? Hell yes because most are not near what the seller claims.

Ruger
I got in the GSD dog business back in the 80's and 90's importing the perfect dog for me. I sold lots of dog that were not what they said they were. I have picked up "real man eaters" from the airport to take them out of the crate and play with them. Zero aggression. Fortunately it is not hard to sell social animals.
