Slamdunc

Hutchins / Nonacona it may be hard to contact you if your kennel names keep changing.  Just a thought.  I'm glad you located the dog and it is in a good home.

Glad you found her;  that was quite quickly !  Too many ppl
with questions like this one never get them answered.
Very happy for her that she is alive and in a good place.
Sadly whatever the rights & wrongs of your particular saga,
I have to agree with you that with the best intentions in the
world, you can draw up contracts, quiz the prospective buyers
yada yada yada - yet sometimes you'll still sell to the stoopid
lying idiots or crooked ones, who will immediately throw away
your paperwork as soon as they get the puppy home.  Seen it
happen.  Just one of life's little irritations ...

If you provide a written contract with every dog you sell that gives you first right of refusal and states the terms - buy back full price, partial price, no refunds until a new home is found by you, whatever, odds are great that you won't have to experience this again.  Buyers are generally only too happy to give a dog back to the breeder when they can no longer keep it.

Slamdunc - I thought those dogs in the pedigree were very familiar.   Thought Hutchins breeding might be really a Nonacona breeding.

Glad you found her, too.

Within a matter of hours the current owners of this dog contracted us.  So I guess the kennel name really didn't matter at all.  All that really matters is that the dog is OKAY and not deceased.  Seems it is more important to some people the welfare of the dogs than what a name is, especially if a contact name is provided.

In the end, thanks to those who stayed focused on helping to find the dog instead of trying to cause drama.

THANKS AGAIN!!

Thinking So, did the second seller make even more profit on the dog's second sale? Was it a discount for being spayed? And how does one go on to be a candidate for PP if it is scared of boots? That one has my curiosity, for sure.

I had the same thing happen to me but the dog was never found. That's how I got into rescue when I contacted some rescues looking for him. Glad your situation turned out better.

But I DO believe that Slamdunc is right. A kennel under the same name over years will be easier to find when someone reaches out to do so.

Barb

Yes Barb he is right,  but that wasn't the topic of this thread.  Just thankful the dog was found.. Sorry your dog was never found.  Not being sarcastic, but was it because your kennel name changed the reason your dog was never found?  If so, I can understand your comment.

by beetree on 06 July 2013 - 14:07

What SmileSuspected fraud was the topic, and it was done in a dramatic way. As it turns out, it was much ado about nothing.

Except for the part about a boot shy dog being recommended for PP training. This all comes from the "experts?" That is just a real eye opener.

Beetree,
Don't you find it suspicious that someone sells a dog as being registered, but will not give original registration paper until forced to, and than that same person lies about the death of the same dog? That same person completely stops responding to the opportunity to explain what really happened. Sounds like a case of fraud in the making to me.  Which by the way, the dog is NOT dead. I did get all the details of the original sale and it was not all ethical. Very shady to say the least. But there are people out there that will take advantage of those less experienced than themselves. This was a perfect example of that.

This does not sound very ethical to me. But than again, different ethic practices for different people.

The dog is alive and doing great. That is all that matters to me.

Thanks to those who had genuine concern for dog's well being. Regular Smile
