Great video!  Your girl has a great pedigree.

This pup will be my competition dog....I hope:).  High drive might be an understatement with an Orry/Javir daughter that's 3-3 on Grim.  "Careful what you wish for" might just apply here:).   All kidding aside, this puppy search has taken over a year and I couldn't be more excited.
PM answered.

Still looking for video.

I love my Orry daughter also. She is so easy motivate & will heel with just a blade of grass. LOL

Recka has produced many service dogs for the disabled, guide dogs, police dogs & up coming sport dogs.
I just adore her temperament & drives. If I can get her more clean in protection she'll get her IPO1 next month

Also just purchased a young male who grand dam is Orry's sister - http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=1837972
He's sire is Javir also. So far I'm very happy with him. Hoping to complete his titles next year.
Erik has very good defense & prey drives.

I've admired Orry since the first time I saw him. He might not be the biggest male but he sure has a strong presence.
Wish Orry got into a kennel that would have used him to his full potential.

cphudson -- I heard that Cox Vikar (http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/dog.html?id=592137), a Veleno son, had a very strong protection performance at the current WUSVs.

One reason I chose to get an Orry puppy was because of the consistent production and high performance by every dog in the first 3-4 generations and by the siblings of the dogs in the pedigree. It's not just a one-off good dog. Orry produced 3 WUSV competitors, was a competitor himself, he has 2 or 3 (half)siblings (from both sides) who have been to the WUSVs, his father and his mother were successful competitors, and his sons seem to be strong producers too.

As far as my pup, I researched her pedigree pretty carefully and have found a lot of solid producers on her mother's side too. I was hoping to get a dog with hardness and fight drive and was wary of too much handler hardness. But what I got was an incredibly resilient pup with very high pack drive and willingness and desire to please. I didn't actually expect her to be so smart or fun or affectionate -- so I'm enjoying her all the more. Have done some bitework with her--she's got great, full grips, nice barking. A fair bit of "fun" obedience--she's a blast to train and will work for food or toy or praise. And just a touch of herding--I think the instincts are all there. Mostly, I've just had a good time playing with her--titles and more to come. :)

Additionally, she's got amazing instincts with puppies--just ADORES them. She just turned 12 months old, OFA prelims are good, so I'm excited to do more with her and maybe have some pups out of her in the future. Nemi's the sable in this puppy video (I had a crazy summer, with a 12 pup and 4 pup litter born a week apart) this was back in July when the Dirty Dozen was 7 weeks old and Nemi was 10 months): http://youtu.be/ek7-CwrHX4s?hd=1

Will do--I had asked you about the pedigree before I got her, I think--you gave me some good info.

Was kind of quiet about her for a while -- wanted to make sure she was going to be a "keeper" first, I guess. :)

The reason for my choice mirrors Christine's.  I was looking at some truly outstanding breedings yet in the end it's still a bit of a gamble.  Orry's proven ability to throw high level pups (Erri, Lord...) was the deciding factor.

Christine, I've been very impressed with how Orry & his siblings have produced as well. Their genetics are carrier over into their grand pup's

Orry's sister has produced a lot of very high scoring dogs in sport & police dogs. Orry produced many top dogs himself while still in Europe.

The best matches I've seen is the Orry line bred back to WG working lines like you female's pedigree. It's a shame the USA was blessed with one of the most titled GSD's in history &
only dog to compete 2x on a WUSV + FCI team with 2 of his sons, but wasn't allowed outside stud service in the states. But anyone lucky enough to have a Orry / siblings offspring will be blessed with their incredible willingness to please their handler, natural retrieving & tracking. Plus they have so much heart in protection. This line offspring continues to place in top at BSP, FCI, WUSV & Czech nationals every year which is really amazing considering how few offspring they have compared to; Tom, Yoschy, Troll, Javir etc..

Tropicalsun & Christine best of luck on your Orry pup's, I'm sure we'll be hearing about them in future trails / working venues.
