Star,
isnt it amazing how hard we fight to extend the life of our DM dogs even ONE day and then I look at photos like this and I just dont get it. The two I save last week were brought to the shelter because the owner decided they didnt want dogs anymore. Originally there were 3 but because they were owner surrender, one was immediately euthanized.
I would try to get these dogs out, but when I put out a plea for a volunteer transport for the other boy in TX Fawn will be fostering, no one answered. I know I could find a rescue to take them, I would bet the ranch on that, but the boarding and transport expenses for two would be difficult for a rescue.

Thanks, DebiSue- I KNOW I can get them into a rescue- its just the holding for transport and transport expenses thats the killer, aside from their owners, of course :(

And if they could get to NY, I would take them. I don't have a clue how to get them out of there. I can kick in a few bucks Friday if we can save them. I am thinking of starting a Facebook dog lovers page where maybe I can get a little more dog lovers networking going. I really would love to be able to help more. I just took in 4 little mutt dogs that I will be rehoming. It's going to hard as one of them I can not even touch without getting bit.

We help out with fostering for the GSD rescues in the Austin area, but I am not "in the loop" with either organziation. I have forwarded to those that are and will post when something has been worked out...

I tagged these two, from my rescue, to give them more time, hopefully we can arrange for some transport somewhere.

I am trying and begging all over the place, looking for anyone who will volunteer to transport. My DH is ready to kill me after all the sadness with Missie T but I just cannot turn my back. I would pay for the transport but I gave $500 last week for the past other dogs I intervened for and with the past expenses of caring for Missie T, and CJ's surgeries, I would be deader than dead if DH found out. I already inquired about paid transport but is $175 each from TX to pa, which probably isnt much different than NY. If someone could hold, I could ask a well connected rescuer to see if he could get a volunteer tansport ( he is a transport coordinator)

, but again, that takes time if it could be done and they had a place to stay to wait for transport. Jessica, let me know what you come up with, please.Marjorie

Just a few transport options via Internet:
Animal Rescue Transport Network on Facebook
Several transports groups listed on Yahoo.com
Mt. Dog Rescue-seems to Xport frequently from Tx to Colorado
"The Muddy Puddle" list several rescue pet flights
Freedom Train Animal Rescue Transport
Operation Roger-truckers out of Texas
Of course all information would need to be verified; so many transports groups have stopped service or seem to only serve the east coast and of course the professional transports charge.
