Krazy Bout K9s

by Krazy Bout K9s on 02 September 2012 - 14:09

This is Sequoia Bleu, I tried to adopt her out as a Dock Dog, but no one would bite, she is the sweetest dog, her new owner does live in Oregon and is a swim coach, he brings her to the river every day for a swim. Just loves her, so at least she went to a good home, man she just got better the more I threw whatever!!! I was hooked just playing with her, and everyone that came loved it. Just no where around here at the time to do it...my pond isn't that big, but we still had fun, yes it was tough throwing and shooting!!!! LOL, Steph

Fun shots! Snapping a photo and throwing the toy at the same time is hard!

I took the picture below while standing on the dock. The one issue with Bosco is he's a 90 lb oaf without any brakes - if you don't throw the toy fast enough, he'll run you down and knock you into the pool.

Nice shots, everyone. Camera  Your dogs sure look like they love to fly! Thumbs Up

How fun!!!!  I wonder what it would cost to set up a pool and dock like that!  Could be a project for next year LOL.  Glad you guys are having so much fun with LF!!!  Tell Dennis to quite breeding "lab" into his bloodline :)

I would love to do that with my dogs in my pond but there are inhabitants in my pond that think dogs are scooby snacks.

VKGSDs

My GSDs dock dive with Ultimate Air Dogs.  They both have "junior" level titles though my younger dog that I just sold was inches away from jumping into the next division in his first competition so he will surely improve.  My other dog has horrible technique and jumps really flat so he will likely always be in the junior division but he has so much fun!  We don't really have a place to train but I let him compete a few times a year even if he never moves up.

I normally try to throw a ball so when my dog jumps he catches it as a huge reward (10-12ft).....this is normally his warm up jump and I try to do as many as possible like this, so he thinks he can jump and catch the toy....
Now in the competition you throw the ball/toy so it hangs in the air, and drops 2-3 ft further than he can jump.......I feel this gets some great distance and he actually tries to reach / catch the ball. If the toy can land in the water a second after the dog lands my dog almost lands in a tucked position gain some extra distance.
He is 8 now, so not as good as he used to be so averaging 23-25ft........

Martin throws the toy about a foot in front of where he wants Bosco to land. Bosco is still a puppy so we're just out there to have fun.
