My understanding is this "secret breeding" was done prior to the current owner taking possession of the male and it was apparently done because the male was such an impressive K9 that the previous owner(s) wanted his lineage passed on to future K9s.  I know that this particular litter was bred specifically for multiple police/sherriff departments for K9s as the dam produces highly desirable K9 progeny (awesome toy drive & great noses for drug seeking) and she was bred for this reason only.  Her pups don't go "public" but it pays to have friends who think enough of you to let you know that an awesome litter is on the ground and there will be no more just in case you (me) wanted one.  I originally said no...we were not going to have another dog (1 is(was) enuf) but I realized it was too good to pass up despite not being able to register him.

That's quite a story!

I agree Keith.  If I didn't know the dam's owner as well as I do and if I hadn't met the dam & grandsire two years ago in person I'd be a bit leary hearing it from just anybody.  In fact...LOL...I'd have run the other way!  This little bugger is pretty sassy.  He charged my 4yr old girl and let her know she was trespassing on his place.  She of course ignored him.  Since then they are warming up to each other slowly.  She's jealous but tolerant unless he acts too goofy then she warns him away and he listens.  He has a strong sense of self and on the way home when we stayed at a motel, he growled and woofed when someone down the hall slammed a door.  Mind you, he was going forward not running backwards when he woofed.  He thinks he is tough stuff.  He tried to bite the vet tech when she checked his teeth.  We are working on his manners as far as allowing us to open his mouth or trim his nails.  He is a handful, for sure.

If I can figure out what I'm doing wrong I'll post some pix...can't seem to remember what to do.  I'll work on it when I have more time at home.

Y'know, you could read that story as "LEO steals stud service".
Wish I hadn't asked.
