Kudos to the host club. The event went smooth and was well organized. It's just too bad they couldn't control the weather.

What happened with Andrea? She is such a great handler, what went on with her protection?

Martina, I have seen Andrea and Henk trial in person, at our clubs trial in 2010. They were an awesome team to watch for sure! A very nice picture overall. I too am curious as to what went on with her protection at the WDC?

Congradulations to all who entered and walked the walk!
Wish we could have made the trip this year to watch & support,
just too much on the go. From all the feedback we got,
it was a well run event

Anyone know why so many DQ's and pulls? Takes a lot to get to that point...What were tracking conditions...?

by dogjam101 on 23 April 2012 - 11:04

Hi All: DQs were all lack of control. Lots of no-outs. Pulls were mostly health related before the event started. Anyone with any other questions, let me know. Thanks to all who supported. Jim Alloway

As many know Doug Deacon is a very hard but fair Judge. A score earned under him is well warranted. What I saw was he really pushed the envelope on length of time on the dog in the Hold and Bark. Thus creating frustration and leaking behavoirs of nipping or looking around especially in the younger dogs. He made sure the stick hits were consistently strong, and the outs on the long bite was often 70 yards between handler and dog. Many dogs have never trained for this and it showed. JMO

Jim:

Sounds like you guys ran a really nice event.

Thanks Jim....
Gustav.....as far as Doug Deacon goes....one of my all time favorites!
How long did he make dogs bark? Was it just in the blind or all guarding phases? Guarding/barking is one of the changes I've noticed in trialing...dog must be strong in his guarding technique:-)
