Good  luck , just work on calming him after the articles..the judge gives you a few minutes to walk around, pat and stroke him calming him under his chin or wherever, a tiny food , and back to position...calming him is very important...so practice it for the next 4 days...you are on your way and congratulatons..

a little trick some of us do is tie a knot at 15 ft in your leash to show half way out..just for your own knowledge...not sure how much you are allowing as you go?

could not see the video..just going on tips I remember

MAAAAAANy YEARS AGO..

ADRIAN Ledda was training my Christie, in tracking,  when Michael the owner died of cancer so I went to training every week for two months and learned so much I didn't learn back 19 yrs ago..

Good luck and we will await the GOOD NEWS>

I don't know what some of you are talking about. Some of the things you guys are complaining about tells me the O.P. knows more about tracking than the people posting, or the people he trains with do.

Chaz....I for one was not complaining about anything just trying to give a different insight....if you'll note I stated in the very beginning of my comments "very nice".  The Poster asked for comments.....they are not complaints they are comments which I had hope would be considered constructive.  People who ask for opinions or comments can look at the comments.......sort them out as to what applies to his training methods/goals....and use them or discard them.  I scored a 96 in tracking at my last SchH2 Trial....my dog was a bit fast as well:)

Mali, I wasn't talking about you. Lol. I was more or less talking about the things the handler is doing to correct problems around the indication.

Chaz, so what is your critic? I noted you didn't provide anything constructive to the OP.

I didn't think it was bad at all. It is a video of "training", not a trial. The dog is fast like many pointed out. It is hard to criticize when, from my perspective, the handler is training. Because I am not there, I see a handler that is trying to iron out some faults at the article. There are reasons why the handler is doing these things. As to the speed, which is consistent, and will be more consistent when there isn't any food at the trial, it depends on the dog. I guess I will ask any of you a question. If I want to slow down anything or anyone at anything, what do I do?

BTW, this is hilarious. Usually I get yelled at for giving criticism.

The only thing I would add, is do not end the track on an article.  The track should continue a short distance past the last article and you can have a food drop there.  Otherwise, nice tracking dog.

JMO FWIW,

Jim

Jim, I agree with you. I've had conversations about that with members. I never want my dog to think it is over at an article.

I should have mentioned this in my first post, but I wouldn't worry about the speed at this point, so close to trial, it shouldn't cost many, if any points. I would try, without corrections to alter the dogs behavor at the articles. He seems a little restless. As I said I'd calm him, take more time before sending him to track the next leg.
