Chaz Reinhold

I think you guys freaked her out.

I doubt it. She's an ER nurse. She has a pretty good grasp on medical stuff. If there was any reason to suspect something as serious as YR suggested, I think she'd notice it and medical stuff isn't likely to freak her out bad enough to not post back. My guess is she's busy...or at work...or napping before she goes to work. ;-)

I hope it's not because Apache got sicker.

Our vet had reported quite a few cases early last year of the dog flu. Sina and I train at the same club, so in the area it would be.

We haven't been to club in ages, before I tell you that mine too did this for a few days. Syd was 2 days and Haley was both ends
for 2 days (she's the best dog ever! A sphincter of steel that dog has LOL) None of the other 3 dogs have had any symptoms.

Sina, Didn't Andrea's dog have something a few months back? Was it Rowdey? Can't remember.

No freaking out here, Chaz, LOL Just puzzled with the entire thing. He is throwing up half digested (chunks) to completely digested food last night (looked like mushy poo but didnt smell like poo). He is not in a crate but has the run of the house. Nothing is missing or newly chewed up. Nothing in the yard I could get into (he is rather finicky in eating stuff he doesnt know). No grass eating observed. Yes, I am going outside with the gang a couple times with flash to make sure everyone does their business, and hubby is in bed early so they dont bark. Last night dinner was around 7pm, he puked at 2am. First I thought its stress and punned up energy from training being cut back over the holidays, but took them out for an hour romp yesterday late afternoon and still...
Have to check into the option of destroying balls, kinda like the kong issue. I am careful with the bloating part as his dad (Ron vom Ludwigseck) died an untimely dead and we couldnt figure out exactly why, but assume it was torsion. He shows no signs of the typical bloating symptoms.
In the evenings, yes, they all will lay around. So something to check into it as well. I know my guys are burbers (now do I really need to burb him like a baby ;P)
Jen, no flu cases in my area as far as I know. All of mine have been on Ivermectin for a year now, before it was Tri-heart which has it in it as well. Never any issues. Thanks for the input though, keep the ideas coming. If it happens again this night, I will take him to the vet tomorrow. At least I have now some ideas as to what to put in the vets head.

Melba, I knew I read that and had associated it w/Elkoorr for some reason. Thanks. I'm not crazy.

I, personally, would not soak kibble due to such conflicting theories, but who knows? If you worm regularly with ivermectin, or anything really, I would keep them on a really good probiotic; chemical wormers are hell on the intenstinal balance. So much of the immune system is centered in the gut that I try to keep them on a good probiotic, especially after any kind of chemical treatment. That really is kind of odd, though hearing Melba's experience with similar makes me feel better, like it's just a bug of some sort.

Feed once a day after exercise and see what happens.

Ivermectin can be dangerous depending on it's use.

Melba is right, there were about 3 dogs sick in the club, but this was in September as I lost Anni puppy. Which of course freaked everyone out, but was totally unrelated with each dog. Yet every dog showed more symptoms of being ill, like not eating, staying hunched or being withdrawn.
Jen, I dont let it soak, just moisten it. Moons, Ivermectin can be dangerous if one cant do the math. Lets see what this night brings.

I figured you were pretty adept at dosages so I didn't mention the ivermectin except in the sense that he may have had a reaction to it, but that's less likely if he's used to it.

Keep us posted, ok? Odd thing going on.
