Good Morning to all ; I would like to offer an opinion here. I happen to have and work a 15-month old female German Shepherd that I got off craigslist in the Fla./Ga. area. She has gained a few pounds since I've had her. I bought her the first part of this year.  BEST money I ever spent. So in closing, It's not about the animals on craigslist, I see it as being about some of the (*^*^%@%) people who call themself dog owners. I think the ones who mis-treat the dogs need to be treated in the same manner.

People might be really surprised if they knew some of the breeding that was behind some of these "craigslist" dogs (or similar type ad boards/pages).

In our region alone, there are several stud dog owners that breed their coveted highly titled/surveyed males to anything that will back up to them, stud fee in hand first of course. There are some dogs in everyones "back yard" that came from some pretty good dogs on paper...

Not saying thats where one should look for a well bred prospect for work etc. just commenting on our experiences. Recently there was an registered 8yr old SchH3 male GSD advertised on CL as needing a home. The ad was forwarded to us by other dog friends, all in an effort to find a seemingly nice dog a home.

Lots of breedings get done when people buy sons and daughters from well bred titled/koerd dogs, then in turn breed those dogs. You end up with 2 or 3 generations of untitled/unhealthtested progeny..but it can be interesting to see what is behind those dogs a couple generations back. You also can find titled sire/untitled dam puppies etc. It will amaze you what is out there sometimes.

Nala is a10 month old female German shepherd. We took her from a lady who was moving to Texas and was going to take nala to a high kill shelter. Nala is a very smart dog and know commands like sit, stay, lay down, and size. She is housetrained and will stay in a crate but she just lays on our couch at night. She is a very laid back dog. We took her to get all of her shots and she is on Comfortis and has 5 more months of her heartworm preventative. She was groomed yesterday and is looking great. She is also very loving with our 5lb Chihuahua. If you are interested in giving nala a home you can email me back or text me at 864-508-2110. She will only go to a home where she can be inside.

I picked up my Slovak import on CL.  I hate to say it this way but you can find some great deals on CL for dogs. You really have to know what your looking for and be willing to walk away. Risk is big since most times dogs are not tested. Some people just dont know what they really have. Some just buy dogs because they are expensive and are "imported" Never have a clue that the dog needs training and a job to do. Sells when the dog starts digging up the yard and barking.
