The 2nd x-ray has the right hip in a little better position. If you look at the patella. The pelvis is not in quite as good of alignment as in the first x-ray. I think this dog will get OFA good. The dog is already 4 and I can not see any DJD changes.

As Blitzen says... I don't get hung up on ratings anymore; fair, good, excellent, all normal hips for breed and age.
In a 4-year old dog, if there were problems, you'd be seeing DJD, calcification, etc. The dog shows none of these problems, so he will get a passing rating. It's hard to know whether he'll get Fair or a better rating--that depends too much on the individual raters. The older the dog is at the time of the scoring, the less I worry about the actual rating.
