Sure, that can absolutely happen. I have seen up to a day between pups. So long as the bitch isn't in active labor, it's nothing to be too alarmed about. I am glad my bitch isn't quite THAT mean to me, lol, but when I asked the vet about her first litter w/an 8 hour break between pups he said I should be thankful she's not the type to go a whole day. lol
