www.k9-pines.com  says they have a DNA cert. AKC female gsd thats brindle.

Brindle is DOMINANT so one parent must be brindle to produce it.  As for the AKC brindle, she has conditional registration at this time.  In four generations that will be lifted.  If you want more information, ask her owner.  I'm staying out of that one.

Just a thought, only a vague memory of something I once read long long ago is what I am posting here.

In that long ago article, someone stated that the brindle was not a popular color in Europe at a certain time and people did not keep on breeding dogs with that color [dominant?].  The only dogs with that color were now just in the Netherlands and those dogs evolved into the Dutch Shepherd which is different from the GSD of the rest of Europe.

If this is true fine, if not fine.  I cannot prove I ever read that article whose author and title is so long ago forgotten.

That is all I have to say.

For final time

dis colour is lost to pure bred GSD .Simple genetics can prove this .K9 is talking S--t .His Gsd is NOT pure bred if it is brindle

I would love a brindle colored GSD.  It's a shame they were dropped from the breeding pool.

NO FEAR, DNA was done on the dog and her parents.  She matches her parents.  The brindle came from her sire who supposedly got it from his dam.  DNA could NOT be done to match him to his parents as they are deceased therefore there is no way to prove if his parents are who they are supposed to be or that he's pure GSD.  This is the reason AKC gave the conditional registration.  These are just simple facts.  I'm not saying the dog is purebred nor am I calling her a mix.  Just don't feel like getting into that when AKC is going to allow them fully into the breed either way.  I do wish they'd start letting us mark down color, pattern, and markings if we're going to have so many new ones allowed.  We couldn't accurately mark it before (for example, a blue had to be registered by either color - blue - or pattern - sable, saddle, bi, or solid - no way to register as say a blue/tan sable which is how it should be marked IMHO) and now it's a real nightmare.
