Just did !!!

by gorsefield on 07 July 2010 - 11:07

Just a thought that maybe its not a good idea asking people to suggest dogs they would like to see, a) it may just offend people who have already generously offered their dogs and b) could maybe be seen as putting undue pressure on stud dog owners if someone says "I would like to see X on the list" but for whatever reason the owner chooses not to offer the dog.
Not trying to nitpick here, I think its a great idea and will be making a donation.

Gorsefield

I think that is a very sound observation - we don't want any controversy surrounding this which might detract from the donations coming in!

I will keep the thread in the public eye with updates on how much we have collected to date.

Cheers, Shirley

DRAW

After discussion I have realised that we run the risk of no winner being able to use the stud dog they are allocated if we carry out the draw as intimated earlier in this thread and so we are changing the way in which the draw will be made....

5 entrants will be selected and they will be given the choice of stud dog pledges in the order in which they are drawn.

Each donation will get one free entry to the draw for each £10 donated - so the more you can donate the more chance of winning but each donor will only be able to win one pledge.

Donated funds will be passed to Simone on a regular basis whilst we are collecting and we expect to close the draw towards the end of August - dependant on how much we have raised and how much interest we still have - closing date will be announced at least a week in advance.

Apologies if any confusion has been caused and please keep the donations coming!

Please pass this info to anyone you know who might be interested and doesn't use PDB.

Cheer, Shirley

Why are there so few pledges from stud dog owners ?.  It is after all for a very serious cause.  Come on all you stud owners pledge your dogs, it costs you nothing only your time.

ABSOLUTELY BUMP  !!

I will update the list of stud dogs asap - had a busy weekend and now have to work for a living!

Thanks to the owners that have pledged their dogs since the last update and please keep the donations coming in!

Have to be honest I have no Idea who this Simone lady is,but have no young enough stud dog anyway, but here's hoping she recovers well.
Just a small gripe though, have you noticed on your list there are no Gayvilles,Tramella, Conolly or Shottan, this speaks volumes to me.

This is just what gorsefield saw possibly happening...subtle condemnation of those who have not chosen to join in.  Please remember that this is purely a charitable request, and no-one should feel that they have to contribute in any way, and should certainly not be singled out for not doing so.
