Krazy Bout K9s

by Krazy Bout K9s on 06 December 2010 - 15:12

Thanks everyone, I am terrible at names and I refuse to use the ones from the shelter. Midnight and Shadow. :-(

Although I do like Shadow, I used to own a White Shadow...and she was that..

And yes I have a Cinder at the rescue already. I think a Belgian Sheepdog/GSD female the same age as these 2 boys. Under 1 yr old. BSD body and temperament type but GSD shorter coat. Very sweet girl too. Was found wandering the streets with a chihuaha.....was pregnant with 2 huge puppies in her when I had her spayed. She was so thin, you couldn't tell she was PG at all...poor girl...

I looked for tattoos last night, but their ears are so black inside that I couldn't see anything. I will check for microchips today, but the shelter "usually" does that, so probably no hope there. They are a bit thin but not bad. Great smelling coats. I think they were outside dogs, because they were afraid to come into the house last night and in crates. Very sweet loving dogs. Very much still puppies. They howled in their crates for 3 hours last night. So no sleep for me..:-(
Thanks, Steph

 Hey LadyFrost,
THEY HAD BETTER BE GONE BY SPRING!!!. I can't afford to feed them that long...

Thankfully MOST of my dogs only last a couple weeks here, some longer, like the tough cases and seniors....but the good ones do go fast.
Thanks all for your suggestions.
So far I am liking Onyx and Odin, but I am having trouble remembering the names....:-(
Jet and Nero are almost easier for me to remember....ya know that brain injury thing acting up...LOL..

I know BeeTree, they are the sweetest most loving dogs...darn....what a shame.

They are really nice looking, well put together in structure. Nice bone for black GSDs. Looking at ears and the slighter square muzzle I too think of at least part DDR or Czech. Somebody is missing them. Tatoo will be very difficult to find or read if their ears are dark skinned inside. I know of it just from my girl, and I know what her tatoo is supposed to say. If anyhow possible scan them with a microchip reader that is able to pick up all 3 avaiable chips. My shelter here uses a different scanner and chip then my Vet does, neither can read each others. My dogs are chipped with Europa ISO chip that again can not be read by both of theirs. Just an idea.

I just got them late last night in the dark, so I haven't been able to tell yet. One is more shy than the other, still trying to figure out which is which...one of the brothers is definately the boss, their temperaments may change once they are separated!!!

I am going out to play with them today and get better pics. They were afraid to come into the house. I don't think anything has been done with them. They were outside dogs. Didn't like me looking in their ears or teeth. No biting or anything, just pulling away. They did okay though and they want to please. They do jump on me, so they have had no training either. More dogs put in the backyard to fend for themselves...such a pity!!!

Their bone is very substantial....for black dogs. Someone mentioned Belgian Sheepdogs(Goenendael) but their coat isn't long enough and their muzzles are way too broad, they stand like a show GSD. Absolutely gorgeous !!!!!

I will have to get my microchip scanner out to check them. No tattoos in the ears for sure.
Later, STeph

They are gorgeous dogs and I am glad they were rescued.  I wish I had extra room and I hate it when people use dogs as accessories or ornaments for their yard.
