I have fed a raw diet for many years. Read up on the BARF diet, you will find loads of information on the internet. it is important to feed some bone if you are feeding fresh meat, to do with phosphorus/calcium ratio. Chicken wings, rib bones etc, 'eating' bones, not recreational bones. IMO this is the only way you can truly know what is going into your dog.
As GSD always says, a lot of other useful diet items can be included, fruit, vegetables, fish (sardines/pilchards - but not in brine) eggs (with shell on), just see what he likes, but avoid onions, grapes, currants. It may seem like a lot of different diet items, but just see what your dog thinks of his new diet, and then see how healthy and fit he is on it.
BTW you will notice - MUCH less poo, much less smell to the poo too. Can only be good!!
