Quote" But the attainment of a Sch title is REAL guarantee of breedworthiness" and in the same post; Quote," Again, not every dog that has a Sch title slapped behind its name is breedworthy!", Unquote. The above statements in the same post really confuse me as they seem contradictory.JMO

Gustav... MEA CULPA!  I am guilty of butterfingers on the keyboard.  You can see where I edited my own post.  Thanks for pointing that out.  I can type faster than I can think sometimes.  LOL

"why are you lining up studs for a female that has not even gotten a title yet?"

It's called Planning.

By looking for studs now, you have a long-term chance to do your research on them, get to see them work, and be on the lookout for what they produce.   I think any responsible breeder always has an eye open for what lines are producing quality.  Something might look/sound fabulous, but when you plan ahead and take the time to see what he has on the ground (taking into consideration the bitches bred to, of course) you may or may not decide that's what you're hoping to produce yourself.

The only one that I can recommend that I know can produce awesome dogs, is Steve Simpkins Lion, that dog can be breed to a coke machine and still produce awesome GSDs. Plus he owns quite few of his Lions progeny so he will be actually able to show you what he produced, rather than you trust on paper titles. My dog been work by quite few helpers already and you would not find a single one that has anything bad to say about her, and more than couple including PSA competitor's that been surprised by the ability of my dog out of a father that not many people hear about.

Why would you not want to plan in advance when breeding your dog? Waiting until the female is titled and then trying to go through and find a stud dog just seems silly. There is no harm in planning.

Hell I pick a stod dog for my female old the time, even though I know I will never breed her ;) I just like to research the possibility. But I am not a breeder, and my breeding expertice ends on just dreaming and picking studs lol ;)
