Pretty sure the pics have been deleted on other forum. Best of luck Chrissy.

IMO Chrissy is a wonderful person, which also makes her the perfect victim.
If all buyers were like Chrissy, then breeders would get away with murder(so to speak), so it is easy to see why she is a breeders dream buyer (as stated numerous times on here).
BUT that in turn makes her a fellow puppy buyers nightmare.
What is that favourite saying that is quite often bandied about on here? All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing.
Many times evil comes hidden in sheep clothing, but sooner or later it is exposed for what it really is by those willing to stand up and confront it. For those of you who did and do just that, on this board, a heartfelt thank you.
How many others have to get screwed before these practices are stopped?
By these practices, I mean taking advantage of those one considers gullible enough to unload your crap on, (for the same high price ), or lying to make a sale, or whatever.
This will be my last post on this subject, as it just pisses me off.
May all the liars, deceivers and users get exposed for who they are in 2012. That is my wish.
Happy New Year!

I have no personal or professional affiliation with anyone concerned, and I am certainly not suggesting anything has been made up.
As for who I am? I use my real name. Who are you? :)

As you know, unlike others, I am public and known person here and an open book and I have nothing to hide. You can see my profile here and immediately know who I am.
Until this point, I did not see it as appropriate to be involved in this thread. That is because I am in communication with Krissy and this topic is about what she should do with dog with bad hips.
Now I feel I need to say this.
I, am the owner of AlpineK9 and I was the importer and Jiri of Jinopo was the breeder of this pup.Jiri has had high hopes for this breeding and even so he and I have number of world class studs he traveled about 1600 km or so to get this breeding done. Also I would like to say, that I am very sorry that this happened to Chrissy and to her pup and that other mistake was made.
And even so we have above average record on good hips, we are not gods and we are not omniscient and we are as any other breeder and we can not predict each individual pup's hips outcome and yes since we are not infallible we sometimes make mistakes.
Because the possibility of mistakes and genetic problems we have warranty. Warranty which is one of the best if not the best replacement warranty amongst breeders and for that reason it is copied by many breeders.
http://www.alpinek9.com/WARRANTY.html
Chrissy bought the dog with the understanding of that warranty. I can not modify the warranty for Chrissy because that would not be fair to previous buyers. I also do understand that Chrissy is not ready for new dog right now.
However I will honor this warranty for perpetuity. It is not like that I am some fly by night. I have been around breeding dogs in USA since 1981. And before that I was involved with dogs in Europe. And I am not planning on quitting. Chrissy said that she can start thinking about getting new dog no sooner than 6 mo.
I have also suggested ( about 10 minutes ago)to her that she should sell the replacement pup and that way recover the cost. I have even suggested that I would refer her potential client.
I understand that this is upsetting for Chrissy and bad for her pup. And I would like to stress out that for that reason it is upsetting to me too. I love what I do I do it merely because I would like people have similar experience with this great breed of GSD as I do. That is my single most important reason for me doing dogs.
I, contrary to some people's opinion am not doing this "just" for the money and am not getting rich on it. For that I could have stayed to be Engineering Geologist and Hydrogeologist. That is where is my original education and work was.
I hope that this clears some air.

I believe you have a truly unique situation with Chrissy. Not only does this dog have dreadful hips (it can happen) but a severe overbite which should have been detected by anyone remotely knowledgeable which should have prevented the puppy ever being shipped in the first place. This is why Chrissy is in the very difficult situation she is in now.
Of course you can modify your guarantee should you choose to. It would be nice to think that a dual severe health problem like this will not arise/have arisen very often (if ever??), and therefore it will not be unfair to others who have had to make use of your guarantee because the circumstances will be very different.
There is a simple solution. Why not simply act as 'broker' for Chrissy in this instance and sell the puppy for her (without deducting any commission), and save her what is likely to be an impossible task for her to achieve when she is going to have a young dog that she is going to be very busy rehabilitating after major surgery. Neither will it help her with upfront costs that she needs to help Kaiser now. Please fix this properly Hans, without making her jump through hoops.
It just takes compassion, with you giving her the money from the puppy sale, and our help to top up for the rest, we can at least help this girl and the pup have a future. She can at least then stop worrying about the money and focus on getting him a good quality of life, and she can start to enjoy life with him. Surely you want this for them as much as we do?

Also it would serve people well before they comment to actually read what I have said and what my warranty says. If you have published and provably dated better replacement warranty then I do, then please let me know and I will match it. That is also part of my replacement warranty.

I do not feel that I should discuss here how compassionate I am. This matter is getting resolved between me and Chrissy as we speak here. Also it would serve people well before they comment to actually read what I have said and what my warranty says. If you have published and provably dated better replacement warranty then I do, then please let me know and I will match it. That is also part of my replacement warranty. Hans |
Your "warranty" would not even be needed had you and your partner at least GIVEN her the courtesy of knowing the puppy had such a SEVERE overbite, it was at that point she would/should have had an option to either move her deposit/payment to a different litter, or ask for AND BE ENTITLED TO a refund.
THAT is what started all this.
You two pawning off a puppy with a MAJOR problem on a novice.
Now look what this poor girl is dealing with. Nice introduction to "Czech Dogs" and German Shepherds in general.

Oh so generous, you advised her to sell the pup you want to give her as a replacement.
Why don't you and your partner do that, or better yet, just refund her purchase price PLUS shipping and then YOU sell the pup you want to give her next?
Why make her do that? Like she doesn't have enough to deal with? You want her to take on another puppy and then try to sell it? Great idea

Good christ, you guys sent her a puppy with a HUGE overbite a blind person could have seen from 15' feet away, and you want to keep reminding people of your warranty? Your initial dealing with her was NOT done in an honest manner, so your warranty is a moot point. That whole concept doesn't seem wrong to you?
Maybe it doesn't..that would explain your actions through all of this.
Unfreakingreal.
Great way to conduct business.
