plsforever,
Thanks for those links, that helps explain things....Well sorta.  I still can't get past the fact that the breeder/broker who is paid a very handsome fee for his expertise to pick a puppy misses succh a glaring defect.  Goes back to the otehr thread that $3,000 is too much to pay for a puppy, especially one with obvious health defects.  But, there are those that argue or claim that if you are new or inexperienced it is often better to pay double for the experience, expertise and guarantees of the broker/breeder.  You pay double and then some for that extra piece of mind...........Ironic isn't it?

Isn't the one who picked all the pups a breed warden?  Wouldn't he be trained over the past 30 or forty years or so to check teeth?   I'm just thinking out loud here, didn't they keep two or three for themselves out of this litter?  Wonder how those dogs teeth are?

But, Jim, only they know how to breed old style Czech dogs.

Duke, I have Kaiser scheduled to go in for elbow x-rays next week; the vet agreed that it'd be a very good idea. Pending those results I will decide on the next steps. If the elbows turn out fine then I will go ahead with the FHO towards the end of January. I have already set the date. But then the question comes up, what do I do if the elbows also turn out horrid? He does walk with his front legs splayed out like an upside down V... but I thought it was just because he is so east-west in the front?

I guess the cat's pretty much out of the bag with those links someone posted. I wish I had been asked if it was okay first. The breeder is very aware of this thread, so if he wanted to identify himself he would've said something by now.

Oh, I do not have a family. I'm single, no kids, live by myself. Not sure where it came from (or why it matters), but just clearing that up.

I agree; that was extremely disrespectful and in poor taste. Had Chrissy wanted to post that, she certainly could have.

Chrissy, keep us posted on his elbows. Easty-Westy fronts at that age are not unusual. When the chest widens, often, they will straighten out. I sure hope his elbows are ok.

Wow,  I thought only 1 % of their puppies had bad hips?

by duke1965 on 31 December 2011 - 09:12

chrissy , I hope the elbows turn out fine  , but some choices you have to make with your head , and some you have to make with your heart , as long as there is options for a normal painfree life for kaiser , follow your heart

Chrissy
Good luck and all the best wishes with his elbows, geezuz christ, at some point this pup HAS to have SOME luck doesn't he?

If the elbows turn out bad, (please remember to put all his AKC data on the films too), then you will have some harder decisions to face, but cross that bridge when you come to it. Many Many MANY dogs have had FHO's, and have gone on to live happy active sound lives.

Did you have any luck finding a pool for swimming yet?
When you find one, please post the info here, you can count us to cover a session or two. Please find out if they have "package" rates as well ok?

It doesn't matter if you are single, married, divorced, gay, staright, 0 kids or 10 kids,  black or white Chrissy, people are angry at how poorly you have been treated and how this duo took advantage of you and robbed you of your hard earned money.

Just as people are "paying it forward" to you and Kaiser, you have a sort of obligation if you will to do the same, and get this all out in the open, maybe you can educate one person in a similar situation as you and save them some heartache?

If anything Chrissy, you should be livid with the way these two shysters have frauded you. But we know, it's hard, you have the aftermath of their lack of ethics to live with as a constant reminder. You have risen above them by miles, and stood by this pup when many would have made a one way trip to the vet.

Don't expect them to do "the right thing", they won't, they have not from the start when they shipped you a puppy with a severe overbite.
Just focus on the positive with Kaiser, and let the people who want to help you do so.

All the best to you and your pup.

I'm seeing a lot of statements being made as if they are gospel. But I've seen nothing that proves the breeder or the broker are even aware of the thread.

I'll accept that it seems odd that the broker hasn't replied, as he seems to use the facility....BUT he has apparently offered to replace the pup.

The breeder may not be aware of the current position.

I may have missed something in the previous pages, but I have seen no pictures of the overbite. Are there any?

Oh, and words like shyster do not help civilised debate.

by aloysius17 on 31 December 2011 - 14:12

Danny follow the links on previous pages and you will see pictures of Kaiser. I sincerely doubt that anyone, let alone Chrissy, would make up something like this. best of luck Chrissy
