you summarize what the discussion is about

@Mithuna Insults don't impress me, either. Try reading the science then you might be able to discuss it.
You want an out of balance dog, not to standard, that is the bottomline.

I think that breeding exclusively for a litter in which all pups would be that type of dog, is just as faulty as breeding a litter that all of pups have over the top prey, or a litter that none of the pups have defense or fight. All of these are faulty to my way of thinking, and have taken the pendulum too far in one direction.

we understand that the sports community has swung the pendulum in the direction of extreme prey. Who has swung it in the other direction IYO?

One of the things I look for , food drive , possession .. here's a good example
by vk4gsd on 07 December 2016 - 21:12
First pup vid, two pups have a spit at each other......this is supposed to be evidence of adult working ability.
My god, Shawni, please stop breeding dogs. I bet you gee'd them up for the video as well.
Complete stupid and fake machismo.

You want to know the truth? Most high level trainers don’t care at all about defense or prey. For IPO or any other sport they want their dog to complete the exercise and get as many points as they can in order to win or place high. They don’t care what “drive” the dog is in when it’s barking as long as the barking is good. They don’t care what “drive” the dog bites in as long as they’re strong, full grips. Want to know who else doesn’t care about drives? K9 handlers, military people handling dogs, or anyone else who has a dog that just needs to bark, bite, and detect some drugs or explosives. All that matters is that the dog can do the job. For IPO dogs 99% of the time the job is pet dog 6 days out of the week and some protection work 1 day out of the week. None are expected to protect the house or their owner off the training field. If they were…they’d be trained to do that job.

BW nice to see you coming out of the Ivory tower a bit. Enough of these kind of comments. Western Rider
Shawni if you need a good male I know of a young dog ( just over a year that is going for under $2K). Everyone of the immediate 62 ( 5 generations) ancestors are titled. Of the 4 grand parents 2 were at the BSP and LGA. Of the 8 great grand parents 3 were at the BSP and 1 at the WUSV. Of the 16 GGGrand Parents 3 went to the BSP and 3 to the WUSV. And in the 32 ancestors of the 5th generation 6 went to the BSP 5 to the WUSV and 3 to the LGA.
Im not considering him and I think he may go quickly.
