Rik

hello wdz, I have not been privy to any previous info and am just piecing this together one post at a time.

There are so many issues involved here that it is impossible for anyone to offer a one size fits all answer. There is the emotional and financial trauma suffered by the owner of the pup. The loss of the dream of training and owning her dream dog. What it must have taken to work and support a family and still put back enough to eventually purchase this dream. What will happen with the puppy. Will the breeder make it right, or as right as it can be made at this late time.

I am fairly certain I have pieced together the breeder/broker and have tried to keep an open mind. As said above, we are hearing one side. But the evidence is pretty substantial that Chrissy has been open on her part.

I will say this, I have been at the dog game for many years. I have evaluated and seen many dogs evaluated. Never have I witnessed an experienced dog person fail to check the mouth. Usually the first thing on the list when choosing a puppy for themselves. And I will call b/s beforehand if it is the breeder/broker I think it is and they claim this. They knew exactly what they put in the crate.

chrissy , I really think you should look at the elbows asap , I was contacted  last week by a person who has a pup from a well known breeder , and the pup has bad elbows and bad hips , now today someone PM me the info on your pup , and the dog Im talking about is same age , same breeder same sire , mother he didnot tell me (I have name , telnr and email from this person)

so putting one and one together , have xrays taken of elbows , save yourself another heartache , and give information to the breeder so he can do the right thing , also for himself in his breedingprogram , as beside the bite , these things can happen and Im sure that breeder isnot looking for this

Duke,
I agree with you 100% and with all of your posts on this thread.  I am pretty sure the breeder already knows, the question is will he breed the three pups he and his partner kept for themselves?  I'm waiting to hear his side of the story.  Actually, I think we are all waiting to hear his side of the story.

Well I am not your child and your not my mother,
I use my own judgment as to how I behave here.
I do not respond well to threats.

Jim,
if you didn't understand the comment you never will.

In my opinion the welfare of the dog seems less important than social implications I see here.

I state my opinions and would welcome debate, what I did not appreciate was having my post butchered by partial deletion.

I've raised animals my whole life and I only care about the animals, not being popular or having a fan club.

Money thrown at a problem never really fixes anything.
You can't buy the quality of life that all animals deserve.
And sometimes the hard choice is the kindest thing you can do for the animal.

Moons.

Moons,
I have to disagree with you.  Normally, on the PDB it is all about the drama with very little resolution.  In this case, I think it is clear that the welfare of the dog is the primary concern.  The owner of the dog came here seeking advice and has gotten some very good responses and some solid information and sources to follow up on.  I'm sure Chrissy will do what is best for this dog and she knows better than us how the dog is.  The OP never once mentioned the breeders name and has been honest and upfront about her intentions, as well as a real class act.  I know that I and many others are truly concerned for the dog first and easing it's suffering and increasing it's quality of life.  That is the big issue, after that is done we will see how ethical this breeder truly is.  The breeder boasts about being honest and ethical and claims fantastic dogs with virtually no HD ever seen.  Let's see how ethical and caring he really is?  I am more than happy to wait and see the outcome, again as stated by several people the health and welfare of Kaiser comes first.

I think I understand what you are saying Moons and cannot totally disagree.  The generosity of the people on this site is heartwarming and wonderful, but it isn't going to stop this breeder from pulling these stunts again, in fact, if others cover the cost, he gets off scott free really, especially if his name isn't mentioned.  I'd like to see the breeder(s) take responsibility for this, and fix it.

I don't know anything about these kinds of operations,(I've never had a dog with HD)  but I do know what it is like to suffer, and death can be kinder, no doubt about it,,, but since I don't know what is involved or how painful or long the recovery is, I can't really comment.  I HOPE the elbows are clear, otherwise that makes things that much worse.

Beautiful puppy pics plsforever, an easy little guy to fall in love with.  This whole mess is very sad all the way around and for everyone concerned.
