I do not think you can produce a better working dog by throwing show line blood. I have working lines and it's already difficult to find quality animals... let alone, crossed with weaker animals. I believe we all agree that a show line dog isnt demonstrating the same power of drive, hardness, tracking ability a solid working line dog is... And there's more to it... I believe in form following function. Don't care one bit about the standard...only health and temperament.
I am sorry to say, but the dogs I see in the videos... are not strong dogs, temperament/working ability wise. Where are the tracking results for these animals?
Honestly, I would be happy if WL GSD was a seperate breed from its show line counterpart. The crazy talk I read here about crossing SL and WL is plain scary... No serious working dog breeder agrees with that.
Regards.

Before my current WL, my experience with them was not positive. I'm very happy with my current boy because he is almost nothing like what many "top tier" WL breeders of today seek

What about yours?
I am not interested in American lines, but I am able to acknowledge dedication to dogs, no matter which kind of dogs. At the end of the day a dog only remembers love and care of the owner, not points and titles.
Personally I would never breed working dogs without working titles ( proof ), but the USA are different - it´s not only allowed, but common practice.
You can´t blame a person for "sticking to the National rules" - you can try to CONVINCE, but don´t BLAME.
Kind regards

People on here, whether they are Show or Working side, are once again putting selfish interests before the breed itself and the Standard does not matter at all. This alone is a large contributory factor in the demise of the breed as we see it today.
TP WLGSD's thought that the breed should separate and yet be the same breed is absolutely ridiculous even though the idea has some support. The working side just do not understand how to breed to the standard and still achieve the things that the breed as whole was famous for. This is evident by the number of working dogs that are anatomically incorrect.
The Show people must also take their share of blame for ignoring the things that should be bred for and, IMO, not being prepared to undertake the training of their dogs to a proper working standard.
On each side both are guilty of only breeding to what they can produce which in many cases falls miles short of the breed standard. Incidentally, the Breed Standard does include the very things each side wants separately but cannot achieve alone.
Get real people, you all came into the breed because of the desire to own a German Shepherd. If those of you who do not want to work together then go and find a breed that meets your requirements and expectations before this breed is ruined further.

Here is a bet for you. 99% of those pathetic excuses for a GSD couldnt clear the 1 meter jump without knocking it over.
The breed is already seperate, and even an idiot should understand why a mix is a useless waste of time. Strong x weak = weak.
Ill say it again show your dogs or be quiet about work...and no your dogs chasing sheep around a pen is not work.
